Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series MPCJR is a digital pump controller designed for versatile level control in industrial applications. It interfaces with almost any style of level transmitter to display the present level and main setpoint value on dual 4-digit LED displays. The unit provides programmable on/off control, reverse (pump out) or direct (pump in) acting logic, for one or two pumps, valves, or other devices via its relay outputs.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series MPCJR accepts selectable process inputs of 4 (or 0)-20 mA DC or 2 (or 0)-10 VDC. Accuracy is specified as ±0.25% of span, ±1 least significant digit with a display resolution of 1 count. The controller operates within an ambient temperature range of 14 to 131°F (-10 to 55°C) and humidity conditions of 0 to 90% up to 104°F (40°C) non-condensing, or 10 to 50% at 131°F (55°C) non-condensing. Storage temperature is rated from -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C). The front panel meets UL Type 4X (IP66) ratings.

Power requirements are 100-240 VAC nominal, +10%-15%, 50 to 400 Hz, single phase; or 132-240 VDC nominal, +10%-15%. The unit includes an isolated loop power supply of 24 VDC @ 50 mA. Agency approvals include cULus and UL Listed.

Configuration Options

The Series MPCJR is offered in a standard configuration with optional features for communication, retransmission, and enclosure protection. The controller utilizes two SPDT control relays rated 10 A @ 240 VAC res., 1/4 hp @ 120 VAC, or 1/3 hp @ 240 VAC, and alarm relays (SPST) rated 3 A @ 240 VAC res. or 1/10 hp @ 120 VAC.

Available options include:

• -232: RS-232 Modbus® RTU serial communications, allowing a remote computer to read and write all control parameters.
• -485: RS-485 Modbus® RTU serial communications for parameter access via remote computer.
• -RC: Analog retransmission of input as 4-20 mA.
• -RV: Analog retransmission of input as 0-10 VDC.
• A-901 Accessory: Weatherproof Enclosures, NEMA 4X (IP66).

Electrical connections are made via a terminal block with 32 terminals. The unit features nonvolatile memory requiring no batteries for backup.

Key Product Differences

The Series MPCJR is available as the base model or configured with specific suffixes to denote added capabilities. Models such as MPCJR-RC-485 combine analog retransmission (0-10 VDC) with RS-485 serial communications, while others like MPCJR-RV-232 pair 0-10 VDC retransmission with RS-232 communication. The base model provides the core level control and relay output functions without optional analog or digital interfaces.
