Supported Applications
The Omega HHP886 Series consists of portable, standalone dual-port manometers designed to measure gas pressure and static pressure. These instruments display differential pressure between P1 and P2 inputs or gauge pressure relative to ambient conditions when a single hose is connected. The series supports measurement in four selectable scales: inches of water column (inWc), millimeters of water column (mmWc), mbar, and psi.
Documented applications include monitoring clean, dry, non-corrosive gases. The device features a rugged rubber boot for protection during field use. Models are configured to operate as battery-powered units or with USB connectivity for real-time data logging to a computer using included software that supports graphical display and export to Excel or text files.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HHP886 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of 32°F (0°C) to 122°F (50°C). Accuracy is specified as ±1.5% FS at 23°C ± 5°C with humidity below 75% RH, and a temperature coefficient of 0.1 x (specified accuracy) per °C applies outside this range.
Measurement ranges are available in the following units:
- inWc: 0.00 to ±60.00
- mmWc: 0.0 to ±1500.0
- mbar: 0.00 to ±150.00
- psi: 0.000 to ±2.000
The resolution is 0.01 inch Wc. The instrument includes a low battery indicator and an auto-power-off function that activates after 15 minutes of no operation. Battery life is rated at approximately 200 hours using four 1.5V (SIZE AAA) UM-4 R03 batteries.
Input pressure must not exceed 5 psi; the meter does not measure water pressure and will fail under such conditions. The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules as a Class B digital device and holds RoHS certification.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable output options to meet specific data acquisition needs:
- HHP886: Battery-powered dual input manometer with no external communication interface.
- HHP886U: Includes a USB port for real-time data logging and software connectivity. This model also features a DC power JACK (12V) on the back side, allowing operation via an optional HH800-ADAPTOR in addition to battery power.
All models feature tube connectors compatible with 4mm ID flexible tubing. The HHP886U includes USB output capabilities operating at a wire communication protocol of 19200 baud rate. Wireless variants (HHP886W) are referenced in the manual for frequency ranges of 910–920MHz, though only battery and USB models appear as enabled ecommerce variants.
Functional features across the series include:
- Dual Display Capability: Simultaneous display of P1 and P2 or P1 and differential pressure (P1 - P2).
- Data Recording: MAX, MIN, MAX-MIN difference, and AVG recording modes with audible beep on new min/max values.
- User Controls: Zero adjust button to zero both ports at ambient pressure; HOLD function to freeze readings; backlight activation (auto-off after 30 seconds); APO toggle for auto-power-off control.
The physical dimensions are approximately 171mm H x 83mm W x 40mm D, with a weight of about 230g including batteries. The unit includes two 1.5 m (5') lengths of tubing with ¼ MNPT adaptors and a protective rubber boot.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between the HHP886 and HHP886U models is the presence of USB connectivity on the latter. The HHP886U supports real-time data transfer to a computer via its USB port, whereas the standard HHP886 relies solely on internal memory for MAX/MIN/AVG recording.
Both variants share identical measurement ranges, accuracy specifications (±1.5% FS), resolution (0.01 inch Wc), and environmental limits. The HHP886U additionally supports external DC power via a 12V jack when used with the HH800-ADAPTOR accessory.
Optional accessories include the SC-800 soft case for transport protection. Wireless functionality described in the manual (HHP886W) operates on a separate frequency band and requires specific channel/ID configuration procedures, but is not represented as an active SKU variant in this series listing.

Out-of-date software - XP and below
It's 2019, and yet the software coming with this manometer doesn't even support up to Windows 7. Was that included in the specs? Nope. How about the manual? Nope. Cost us some hassle. Nevertheless, the manometer itself works fine, as did the software once we got over the annoyance.

Does this monitor ambient barometric pressure?
This unit will not measure barometric pressure. That would require an absolute pressure referenced device. If you are looking for a economical handheld manometer for barometric measurement you can look at our HHC281 manomater

does this measure in negative pressure?
Don: Thank you for contacting Omega. Yes, the HHP886 series manometers can measure negative pressure. Each of the two pressure input channels can measure over the range of -60 to +60 Inches of Water. Resolution is 0.01 inches. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any additional questions.

I am new to 'differential pressure' measurement. The spec shows Measurement Range of +/- 2.0000 PSI. Do you never expect to see a differential pressure greater than 2 PSI (~ 150 mBar)?
This specific model is rated for +/- 2 psi, and you may not exceed 2 psi differential on this unit. In case you want to read higher differential pressures we suggest looking at the HHP400 series. In case you need selection help feel free to email us at pressure@omega.com
