Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series VRK is a maintenance pack designed for the repair and replacement of seals, O-rings, washers, and seats in Dwyer Series WE ball valves. These kits provide the necessary components to restore valve integrity during scheduled maintenance or component failure.

Series VRK kits are specified for use with the following Dwyer ball valve series:

• Series WE01
• Series WE02, WE05, and WE06 (shared kit)
• Series WE03
• Series WE04 and WE07 (shared kit)
• Series WE31
• Series WE33
• Series WE34

The series meets the technical requirements of EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS II).

Operating Conditions & Performance

Series VRK kits are defined by their compatibility with specific valve sizes and material compositions rather than performance metrics such as pressure or temperature ratings. The component materials included in each kit vary according to the target Series WE valve family.

The standard parts list for most configurations includes:

• 1 PTFE thrust washer
• 1 FKM O-ring (noted as KFM in some documentation)
• 2 or 3 units of stem packing, typically PTFE
• Body seals and ball seats made from PTFE, RTFE, CTFE, or Graphite depending on the valve series.

Note: The Series WE04 kits include a thrust washer made of CTFE and stem packing consisting of 1 CTFE and 1 Graphite. Body seals for this series are also specified as Graphite.

Component Material Variations by Valve Series

• Series WE01: Includes PTFE thrust washer, FKM O-ring, PTFE stem packing (2 units), 1 Body seal (PTFE), and 2 Ball seats (RTFE).
• Series WE02/WE05/WE06: Includes PTFE thrust washer, FKM O-ring, PTFE stem packing (2 units), 2 Body seals (PTFE), and 2 Ball seats (RTFE).
• Series WE03: Includes PTFE thrust washer, FKM O-ring, PTFE stem packing (2 units), and 2 Ball seats (PTFE). This kit does not include body seals.
• Series WE04/WE07: Includes CTFE thrust washer, FKM O-ring, mixed stem packing (1 CTFE, 1 Graphite), 1 Body seal (Graphite), and 2 Ball seats (RTFE).
• Series WE31: Includes PTFE thrust washer, KFM O-ring, PTFE stem packing (3 units), 3 Body seals (PTFE), and 4 Ball seats (PTFE).
• Series WE33: Includes PTFE thrust washer, FKM O-ring, variable quantity of PTFE stem packing (2 for 1/2" to 3/4", 3 for 1" to 4"), 2 Body seals (PTFE), and 5 Ball seats (PTFE).
• Series WE34: Includes variable quantity of PTFE thrust washer (1 unit only for 1/2" to 1" sizes), FKM O-ring, 3 units of PTFE stem packing, variable Body seals (4 for 1/2" to 1", 5 for 1-1/2" to 3"), and 4 Ball seats (RTFE).

Configuration Options

The Series VRK is available in multiple model numbers corresponding to specific valve sizes ranging from 1/2" to 3". The kits are configured to match the exact component requirements of each Dwyer ball valve series.

Model numbering follows the format VRK-, with examples including VRK-02, VRK-16, and VRK-34. Specific model assignments include:

• VRK-02 to VRK-09: Corresponds to Series WE01 valves in sizes 1/2" through 3".
• VRK-10 to VRK-18: Covers Series WE02, WE05, and WE06 across various sizes from 1/2" to 3". Note that the same repair kit is used for all three series within a given size.
• VRK-19 to VRK-26: Designed for Series WE03 valves in sizes ranging from 1/2" to 2" (with specific models covering up to 3").
• VRK-27 to VRK-35: Supports Series WE04 and WE07, sharing the same kit for both series across sizes from 1/2" to 3".
• VRK-36 to VRK-41: Intended for Series WE31 valves in sizes 1/2" through 2".
• VRK-42 to VRK-49: Supports Series WE33 valves from 1/2" up to 2" (with some models extending coverage).
• VRK-50 to VRK-58: Configured for Series WE34 valves in sizes ranging from 1/2" to 3".

Key Product Differences

The primary variation within the Series VRK is determined by the target valve series and size, which dictates the specific materials (PTFE vs. RTFE vs. CTFE) and component quantities included in each kit.

Differences between kits include:

• Inclusion or exclusion of body seals: Kits for Series WE03 do not contain body seals, whereas other series configurations typically include them.
• Seat material composition: While many kits utilize RTFE seats, the Series WE03 and certain sizes in Series WE31/WE33 use PTFE seats. The Series WE34 utilizes RTFE seats.
• Packing quantity: Stem packing counts vary by series and size; for example, Series WE33 requires 2 units of stem packing for smaller valves (1/2" to 3/4") but increases to 3 units for larger sizes (1" to 4").

Documentation notes that the repair kit includes 2 PTFE seals which are not included for WE03 series, and conversely, 2 RTFE seats are excluded from WE03 kits. The Series WE02 shares its repair kit with Series WE05 and WE06, while Series WE04 shares its kit with Series WE07.
