Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 2000-SP Magnehelic® Differential Pressure Gage combines an analog differential pressure indicator with a setpoint alarm function. Designed for monitoring air and non-combustible, compatible gases (with natural gas options available), the series provides visual indication of applied pressure via a black pointer and activates a red LED when a field-adjustable threshold is reached.

Applications include systems requiring differential or static pressure monitoring where an electrical alarm signal is needed without complex control logic. The photo-optical switching system, utilizing a shielded LED beam and phototransistor, eliminates mechanical wear associated with contact-based switches.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 20 to 140°F (-6.67 to 60°C). Accuracy is specified as ±2% of full scale throughout the range at 70°F (21.1°C), with specific tolerances for low-range models: ±3% on -0, -100 Pa, -125 Pa, and 10MM ranges; and ±4% on -00, -60 Pa, and -6MM ranges.

Pressure limits vary by configuration. Standard gages feature a relief plug that opens at approximately 25 psig (1.72 bar). The MP option supports up to 35 psig (2.41 bar), while the HP option is rated for 80 psig (5.52 bar). For best accuracy, standard models are calibrated with the diaphragm in a vertical position; other orientations require factory consultation.

Configuration Options

The Series 2000-SP offers configurable measurement ranges and pressure ratings to suit specific process requirements. The setpoint indicator is field-adjustable from the gage face, allowing operators to change the alarm threshold without tools or disassembly.

• Measurement Ranges: Available in positive (e.g., 0 to 100), negative (-0 to -100), and differential spans across units including inches of water, Pa, mmH2O, mmHg, kPa, mbar, psi, and bar.
• Housing & Finish: Die cast aluminum case and bezel with an acrylic cover. The exterior finish is coated gray to withstand a 168-hour salt spray corrosion test.
• Process Connections: Features duplicate high and low pressure taps (one pair side, one pair back) using 1/8" female NPT threads.
• Power & Output: Operates on a regulated 12–24 VDC supply. The output is a red LED indicator located on the right of the scale that illuminates when pressure reaches the setpoint.

Standard Accessories and Options

The series includes mounting hardware and sealing components tailored to the selected model:

• Standard Models: Two 1/8" NPT plugs for duplicate pressure taps, two 1/8" pipe thread to rubber tubing adapters, and three flush mounting adapters with screws.
• MP & HP Options: Mounting ring with snap ring retainer substituted for the standard flush mounting adapters. Includes (2) 3/16" tubing to 1/8" NPT adapters.

Key Product Differences

The Series 2000-SP is distinguished from standard Magnehelic® gages by the addition of the setpoint indicator option, denoted by adding the suffix "-SP" to the base model number (e.g., 2001-SP). This configuration requires an MP or HP style cover and bezel.

Physical dimensions vary slightly between standard and high-pressure configurations. Standard models weigh approximately 1 lb 2 oz (510 g), while MP & HP variants weigh 2 lb 2 oz (963 g) due to reinforced construction. All units feature a 4" (101.6 mm) diameter dial face with a 5-1/2 O.D. mounting ring.

Wetted materials for specific gas applications, including natural gas options, require consultation with the factory. Unused pressure ports must be sealed with the supplied pipe plugs to maintain accuracy and prevent contamination in dusty environments (optional A-331 Filter Vent Plug recommended).
