Supported Applications

The Omega M12CFM-TC Series consists of field mountable, thermocouple compensated cables designed for applications requiring adaptable sensor connections and special requirements. These assemblies facilitate the connection between thermocouple sensors and instrumentation using straight or right-angled M12 connectors at the sensor end.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series supports stranded thermocouple compensated cable options with two primary insulation types: PFA insulated and jacketed, or PVC insulated and jacketed. Conductors are available in #20 AWG (PFA only) and #24 AWG configurations for both insulation materials.

Cable color coding is offered in ANSI and IEC standards. For Type J, K, T, and E thermocouples, the series supports ANSI colors as standard; to specify IEC colors, add 'I' after the type designation (e.g., JI, KI) with no additional cost.

Configuration Options

The M12CFM-TC Series is configurable across multiple dimensions including connector orientation, termination style, cable length, and protective overbraid options. The model number structure follows the format: M12CFM-<CABLE_TYPE><THERMOCOUPLE_TYPE><FRONT_END_CONNECTOR><BACK_END_CONNECTOR>-<LENGTH_IN_METERS>.

Connector Options

The series offers M12 field mountable connectors at both the sensor and instrument ends. Available configurations include:

 • Sensor End (Front): Straight socket with strain relief (SFSR), straight plug with strain relief (SMSR), right-angled socket with strain relief (RFSR), or right-angled plug with strain relief (RMSR).
 • Instrument End (Back): OSTW female/male connectors, SMPW-CC male/female connectors, M12 straight/right-angled sockets/plugs with strain relief, or 150 mm (6") stripped leads (FL) as the minimum length.

Cable and Protection Options

Beyond standard cable assemblies, the series supports optional protective layers:

 • Stainless Steel Braid: Add 'SB' to the end of the callout (contact sales for pricing).
 • BX Hose: Add 'BX' to the end of the callout (contact sales for pricing).

Cable Lengths

Standard lengths are available in meters. For longer cables, replace the final number in the model with the desired length in meters; note that custom lengths for 'TT' and 'PP' cable types require contacting sales.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the M12CFM-TC Series are distinguished by thermocouple type, insulation material, conductor gauge, connector orientation, and termination method. Key distinctions include:

 • Cable Type & Insulation: 'TT' denotes PFA insulated/jacketed cable (available in #20 AWG or #24 AWG), while 'PP' denotes PVC insulated/jacketed cable (#24 AWG).
 • Thermocouple Types: The series supports Type J, K, T, and E thermocouples.
 • Color Codes: Models without an 'I' suffix use ANSI color codes; models with an 'I' suffix (e.g., PPJI24S) utilize IEC color codes.

What are the maximum working temperatures of the connector and cable?

Asked by: J830
Thank you for your inquiry! The M12 connector has a maximum temperature of 85°C. The cable will have a maximum working temperature of 260°C for PFA insulation and 105°C for PVC insulation.
