Supported Applications

The Omega TX206TH is a loop-powered "Smart" in-head transmitter designed for thermistor input with a (4 to 20) mA output. The device is engineered for mounting inside a DIN standard termination head, providing IP65 protection when installed within a suitable enclosure.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TX206TH operates across an ambient temperature range of -40 to 85 °C. It accepts thermistor inputs and provides a process output configured for ranges such as 0 to 100 °C, with the series supporting measurement capabilities from -205.0 to 1000.0 °C depending on configuration. The unit requires a supply of 30 V dc (reverse protected to -30 V dc) and operates within an input voltage range of ± 3.0 V.

Configuration Options

The series supports configurable settings via USB or manual range setting, utilizing the USBSpeedLink software and a USB Configurator Kit. Key configuration parameters include:

  • Sensor Input: YSI 10K B thermistor.
  • Output Signal: (4 to 20) mA two-wire loop powered output.
  • Error Output: Configurable error signal at 21.0 mA.

Mechanical installation features a diameter of 43.0 mm and height of 21.0 mm, with fixing centres at 33.0 mm and two 5.5 mm mounting holes. Electrical connections are made via screw terminals (5 terminals labeled 1-5), accommodating sensor wires that must be less than 3 metres to maintain CE compliance; screened or twisted pair cable is recommended.

Key Product Differences

The TX206TH series includes factory default configurations for specific process outputs, such as the 0 to 100 °C range. The device contains no user serviceable parts or internal adjustments and must be installed by competent qualified personnel with adequate protection from moisture and corrosive atmospheres.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from universal generic programmable transmitter I purchased this with the hope I could program it to my own NTC thermistor which I succeeded in doing with a resistor decade box, power supply, and milliamp meter. It will monitor motor stators on a semi-hermetic compressor. Thermistor transmitters are hard to find. I was lucky to find this one. It can be programmed in less than a minute once you are set up.

The default input range for this sensor should be from 93.05 ohm to 481924.5 ohm for a temperature range of -55 degC to 150 degC. But in the xml, it states the input range is from 9.12 to 465.46 for same range, how does it works?

Asked by: KH Lou
The input range above I am referring to US Sensor PS502J2.

Is this product working with 20K NTC thermistors as well?

Asked by: catavio
Thank you for the question Catavio. The free software includes library folder for US Sensors. Your element must follow the same Steinhart-Hart constants as the US Sensors' 20K element. Best regards OMEGA
