Supported Applications

The Omega LCP Series consists of compact, temperature-compensated load pins designed for tension and compression measurements. These force sensing elements are engineered to replace existing shear pins, clevis bolts, clevis pins, shear axles, and other pinned joints within mechanical assemblies. Documented applications include measuring cable tension, structural testing, aerospace and construction projects, force calibration, lifting systems, mooring systems, hydraulic presses, and crane load systems.

Typical installation points for the LCP Series involve clevis pin shackles, loading cranes, lifting fittings, sprockets, and pulley axles where monitoring or controlling reaction loads on pins is required.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers a High 0.50% Accuracy Class with an accuracy of ±0.50% FSO and repeatability of ±0.15% FSO. The load resistance is specified at 350 Ω nominal, providing an output signal of 1 mV/V nominal when supplied with an excitation voltage of 10 Vdc (maximum 15 Vdc).

Performance specifications cover a measurement range from 600 to 50,000 lb (272 to 22,500 kgf). The units are rated for ambient operating temperatures between 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F) and process operating temperatures ranging from -53 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F). The housing carries an IP65 enclosure rating.

Configuration Options

The LCP Series is available in multiple model families distinguished by diameter and capacity, following the naming convention LCP<MODEL>-<CAPACITY>. Available configurations include:

  • Diameter Families: Models are grouped into size classes including LCP375 (22.2 mm / 0.88 in), LCP500 and LCP750 (38.1 mm / 1.50 in), LCP1000, LCP1250, and LCP1500.
  • Capacity Options: Capacities range from 600 lb up to 30,000 lb across the series variants (e.g., LCP375-600 through LCP1500-30K).
  • Housing Material: Constructed of Stainless Steel.
  • Electrical Connection: Standard PTIH-10-6P Connector (or equivalent) is integral to the design. A mating connector, model PT06F10-6S-R, is available as a separate accessory.

The series supports custom capacities and sizes not shown in standard listings upon request. All listed models are compatible with DPiS, DP41-S, and DP25B-S meters.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the LCP Series differ primarily by physical dimensions (diameter A, length C) to accommodate specific pinned joint geometries. The dimension tables define distinct profiles for each model family:

  • LCP375 Models: Feature a 22.2 mm (0.88 in) diameter with an overall length of 69.9 mm (2.75 in).
  • LCP500 and LCP750 Models: Share a 38.1 mm (1.50 in) diameter but differ in overall lengths, ranging from 88.9 mm (3.50 in) for the LCP500 series to 101.3 mm (3.99 in) for the LCP750 series.
  • LCP1000 and Larger Models: Increase in diameter up to 50.1 mm (2.00 in) with corresponding increases in overall length, reaching 157.5 mm (6.20 in) for the LCP1500 series.

The connector pin code is identical across all model families despite dimensional differences.
