Supported Applications
The Omega NWHO/NWHOB Series consists of oil circulation heaters designed for light and medium weight oil applications. These units are engineered for temperature maintenance and heating of heat transfer oils to improve flow ability.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates with a pressure rating of 150 Lb. The heater body is constructed from ASTM A53B carbon steel pipe, while the end disk utilizes ASTM A516 Grade 70 carbon steel plate. Heating elements feature a 0.475" Dia. Steel Sheath.
Power supply options include 240 and 480V at 1 or 3 Phase configurations. The series supports power levels ranging from 3 to 120 kW, with specific model availability dependent on the selected flange size and voltage configuration.
Configuration Options
The NWHO/NWHOB Series is available in multiple sizes defined by ANSI blind flange designs. The series supports configurations across four primary series codes: 03 (Three), 06 (Six), 18 (Eighteen), and 27 (Twenty Seven). Process connections include a 3 to 10" ANSI Blind Flange Design, with inlet and outlet options of 1" or 2" NPT pipe depending on the series.
Terminal enclosures are offered in four ratings:
- E1 General Purpose
- E2 Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant (Note: Add 2" to A dimension for E2 enclosure)
- E3 Explosion Resistant
- E4 Moisture Resistant
Electrical connections are provided via convenient field wiring terminals with a 1" conduit opening. The housing consists of painted sheet metal jacketed units with thermal insulation.
Options and Accessories
- Side Mounted AR Thermostat (200 to 550°F)
- Thermocouple or RTD opening (½" NPT threaded)
Key Product Differences
The series is divided into two primary model families: the standard NWHO and the NWHOB. Both share identical flange sizes, power ranges, voltage options, and enclosure ratings as documented in their respective "To Order" tables.
Differences between variants are primarily defined by physical dimensions (A, B, C) and weight, which scale with kW output and series code. For example, Series 03 models range from 70 to 94 lb depending on power rating, while larger Series 27 units weigh up to 765 lb for the NWHO family or 771 lb for the NWHOB family at higher power levels.
Model numbers follow the format: NWHO----. The series code indicates flange size (03, 06, 18, or 27), while the kW code specifies power output from 3 to 120 kW. Enclosure codes E1 through E4 denote environmental protection levels.
