Supported Applications

The Omega LVM Level Track Mounting Systems are designed for in-tank level measurement applications in unpressurized tanks only. The system enables the installation and adjustment of up to four OMEGA sensors along the entire length of a vertical track, allowing users to position sensing elements at any depth within the vessel.

Documented use cases include mixing applications where radial velocities reach up to 1.5 fps (feet per second). The LVM series is intended for integration into an overall level control system and may be used with LVU-150, LVC-100, and LVV-110 sensors, which are sold separately.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The track assembly operates within a maximum temperature rating of 90°C (194°F). Constructed from wetted materials consisting of 20% glass filled Polypropylene (PP), the system is engineered for vertical mounting orientation. The physical profile features a cross-section of 2.5 cm (1") square, with available track lengths spanning 0.6, 1.2 or 1.8 m (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10').

Installation requires mounting vertically through the top of the tank using a standard 2 NPT tank adaptor or via an optional side mount bracket bolted or welded to the side wall.

Configuration Options

The LVM series offers configurable track lengths and accessory options to accommodate different tank depths and sensor counts. Each standard level track kit includes a 2 NPT fitting assembly, the selected track section length, and one sensor car.

Track Lengths (Model Series)

• LVM-11: 2' x 1" square
• LVM-12: 4' x 1" square
• LVM-13: 6' x 1" square
• LVM-14: 8' x 1" square
• LVM-15: 10' x 1" square

Accessories and Options

The series supports the following add-on components to expand functionality:

• Sensor Car Kits (LVM-20): Additional sensor cars can be purchased separately; each kit measures 2 x 1".
• Side Mount Bracket (LVM-30): Dimensions of 6 x 3.2 x 2", designed to bolt or weld to the side wall of a tank as an alternative mounting method.
• Electrical Housings:
  • LVCN-11: 4 sensor electrical housing (2.8 x 4.5 x ¾ NPT)
  • LVCN-12: 2 sensor electrical housing (2.8 x 3.5 x ¾ NPT)

Lengths of up to 1.8 m (10') can be special ordered beyond standard configurations.

Key Product Differences

Variation within the LVM series is primarily defined by track length and accessory configuration. The base kits differ only in the included track section size, ranging from 2 feet to 10 feet (LVM-11 through LVM-15). All variants share the same wetted material composition of 20% glass filled Polypropylene (PP) and a square cross-section dimension of 2.5 cm (1").

System capacity is variable based on accessory selection; while standard kits include one sensor car, additional LVM-20 sensor cars allow for the installation of up to four sensors along the track length. Electrical housing options vary by port count: the LVCN-11 supports 4 sensors, whereas the LVCN-12 supports 2 sensors.
