Supported Applications

The Omega SJP Series consists of Jack Panel Assemblies with Standard Thermocouple Connectors designed for thermocouple connection points in control panels and instrumentation setups. These assemblies feature snap-in female connectors that accept standard or miniature male thermocouple plugs, providing a durable interface for signal routing.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SJP series is constructed from 2.3 mm (0.09") anodized aluminum with high-impact plastic connector bodies to ensure durability in industrial environments. The maximum service temperature for the panels is rated at 205°C (401°F). Electrical connections utilize collet-type, spring-loaded terminals within universal female connectors.

Configuration Options

The series supports a wide range of configurations defined by row count and total jack quantity. Panels are available in single-row through four-row layouts with varying circuit densities per row (6, 12, or 18 circuits). The model number format follows the pattern SJP<ROWS>-<JACKS>-<CALIBRATION>, where the suffix indicates the specific thermocouple type.

Available configurations include:

 • Row Configurations: Panels are offered in 1, 2, 3, or 4 rows. Heights range from 67 mm (2.63") for a single row to 203 mm (8.00") for four rows.
 • Circuit Density: Rows can accommodate 6, 12, or 18 circuits per row, resulting in total jack counts ranging from 6 up to 72 jacks depending on the model.
 • Thermocouple Calibrations: The series supports standard calibrations including J, K, T, E, R, S, N, and U. Tungsten alloy types G, C, and D are also supported per product overview documentation.
 • Housing Options: Standard panels feature color-coded anodized aluminum faces corresponding to the thermocouple type. Blank panel options (suffix BLANK) are available for custom labeling or mixed-use applications.

Additional features and accessories include loose ID labels supplied with each unit for field identification, dust caps (SPJ-CAP-12), and the option to supply male plugs in place of female jacks. Custom color-coded anodized panels are available through Omega's Custom Engineering Department.

Mounting Specifications

The SJP series is designed for face-mount installation with specific hole spacing requirements:

 • Hole spacing: 4.8 mm (0.19") on both sides.
 • Mounting holes: 4.8 mm (0.19") diameter, suitable for #8 screws.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the SJP series are distinguished by their physical dimensions and connector calibration types. The primary differentiator is the model number suffix which denotes the thermocouple type (e.g., -K, -J, -T) or indicates a blank panel (-BLANK). Some models include an "I" suffix (e.g., KI, NI), indicating specific insulation or internal configurations as listed in variant data.

Panel dimensions scale with the number of rows and circuits. For example, a 1-row panel with 6 jacks measures 146 mm L x 67 mm H (5.75" x 2.63"). A 4-row configuration with 72 total jacks reaches an overall height of 203 mm (8.00") and a length dependent on the circuit density per row.

Ordering requires specifying the number of rows, the total number of jacks, and the calibration type to ensure compatibility with existing thermocouple instrumentation systems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable jack panels These jack panels work great for years of reliable service! The only downside is they become brittle when exposed to continuous heat and will break if you try to remove them..I've never had one break in 10+ years of service in hot environment, though!

Jack Panels With Color-Coded Standard Connectors C$67.00 Item# SJP1-06-T Can you sent me this item's cut out demintion drawing when we mounting this into panel door?

Asked by: zhiwen
We cannot provide a drawing for the cutout as it is proprietary. The connector center to center space is 0.750" and the cutout size is 0.635" x 1.195". The panel size itself is 5.75" x 2.63". Omega Panel Punch CP-5 is the punch that we would recommend to use for cutting the proper hole for this jack panel.

What would the large square cutout size be for a Item# SJP2-12-J? Do you have a PDF or sheet that shows the cutouts for all the models?
