Supported Applications

The Omega EchoPro LR11 is an intrinsically safe, two-wire pulse radar level transmitter designed for continuous liquid level measurement in corrosive media. The series supports chemical or water storage applications within above-grade metal or reinforced concrete tanks and below-grade tanks of any material. It operates effectively with vaporous media, light agitation, condensation, or vapor conditions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LR11 utilizes 26 GHz pulse radar technology to measure liquid levels with a range of 12" to 32.8' (30cm to 10m) and an accuracy of ± 5mm. A dead band of 12" (30cm) is specified, with a beam angle of 22°. The sensor features automatic temperature compensation.

Performance limits are defined by the following operating parameters:

• Process Temperature: F: -40° to 266°, C: -40° to 130°
• Storage Temperature: F: -40° to 176°, C: -40° to 80°
• Pressure Rating: -14.5 to 43.5 psi (-1 to 3 bar)

The unit carries an IP67 enclosure rating and is classified as Intrinsically Safe.

Configuration Options

The LR11 series offers configurable output signals, mounting options, and accessories tailored for hazardous locations. The standard process connection is 1-1/2" NPT, with the housing constructed from 316L stainless steel featuring a silicone gasket and PBT FR neck.

Output & Configuration

• Signal Output: 4-20 mA, two-wire, HART 7; configurable for signal invert (4-20 mA or 20-4 mA).
• Fail-Safe Options: 3.9 mA, 20.5 mA, or 22 mA.
• Configuration Interface: Integral push button display module with LCD dot matrix (Feet and meters) or HART communicator.

Mounting & Accessories

• Process Connection: 1-1/2" NPT standard; reducer bushings available for 2", 3" connections in PVC schedule 40 and 80 (LM53 series).
• ANSI Flanges: Available as options for 3", 4", and 6" sizes in CPVC schedule 80.
• Level Indicator: LI24-1001 DATALOOP™ Intrinsically Safe Level Indicator (UL approved, loop powered) displays engineering units in series with the transmitter.

The LR11 holds multiple certifications for hazardous environments:

Key Product Differences

The LR11 is a specific model within the broader EchoPro family. While other series in the manual (LR16, LR21, LR26, LR31) offer extended ranges up to 114.83' (35m), different beam angles, and alternative wetted materials such as PA66 or PTFE covers for aggressive liquids, the LR11 is distinctively configured with a PFA antenna material optimized for corrosive media under simple process conditions.

The standard model number format follows the pattern LR11--, exemplified by part number LR11-5421-00. The series is supplied with a 1/2" NPT conduit entrance and specific dimensional constraints: total height of 5.38" (136.5mm) and a flange-to-tip distance of 4.25" (108mm).
