Supported Applications
The Omega CIR-14 series consists of Incoloy cartridge heaters designed for industrial heating applications. These units are engineered to fit into drilled holes in metal blocks or molds, providing direct heat transfer through the sheath surface.
Operating Conditions & Performance
This series is defined by a 0.25 inch outer diameter (OD) and lengths ranging from 1.25 inches to 6 inches. The heaters utilize an Incoloy sheath material, which provides the structural integrity required for insertion into tight tolerances common in cartridge heater installations.
Key Dimensions
- Diameter: 0.25 inch OD
- Lengths: Available from 1.25 inches to 6 inches
The series is offered in multiple wattage configurations, with specific power ratings determined by the combination of length and voltage.
Voltage Options
- Standard Voltages: Models are available for 120V or 240V operation.
Selecting the correct model requires matching both the physical dimensions (length) and the electrical supply voltage to ensure proper watt density and operational safety within the host equipment.
Configuration Options
The CIR-14 series offers a broad range of part numbers to accommodate different power requirements across its length spectrum. The 68 enabled variants cover various combinations of heating element lengths and input voltages.
Model Configuration Logic
- Part Number Structure: Models follow the format CIR-XXXX/Voltage, where XXXX denotes a specific length/wattage code and Voltage indicates 120V or 240V compatibility.
- Voltage Specificity: Some lengths are available in both 120V and 240V configurations (e.g., CIR-1019, CIR-1020), while others may be restricted to a single voltage option depending on the specific part number.
The Incoloy sheath is standard across this series. Engineers must verify that the selected length and wattage match the thermal requirements of their application before installation.
Key Product Differences
Variation within the CIR-14 series is primarily driven by physical dimensions (length) and electrical input voltage. The part number suffix explicitly identifies the operating voltage, distinguishing between 120V models (e.g., /120V) and 240V models (e.g., /240V).
While all units share the same 0.25 inch OD and Incoloy construction, the internal heating element configuration varies to achieve different wattage outputs for each length/voltage combination. No other material or connection variations are documented in this series bundle.
