Supported Applications

The FL-500UP Series are in-line flowmeters purpose-built for monitoring the flow rate of ultra-pure water. They are ideal for feeding UPW to tools, on de-ionized water returns, and on UPW returns, where wetted-material purity and clear visual indication are essential.

Construction is optimized for high-purity service: a polysulfone body, PVDF end fittings, perfluoroelastomer seals, and a standard 316 SS shaft and spring (an electro-polished version is optional). The fluid is always in sight through the body, and direct-reading English and metric scales allow flow to be read without conversion. The meters are RoHS compliant and come complete with an operator's manual.

Caution: Polysulfone should not be used in direct sunlight or any other significant source of ultraviolet light.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Accuracy is ±5% FS with a pressure drop of 4 psi at full scale flow. The maximum pressure is 150 psig at 20°C (68°F), and the maximum temperature is 65°C (150°F) at 0 psig.

Each meter is 177.8 mm (7") long. Models FL-505 through FL-515 use a 50.8 mm (2") diameter body with a 1 FNPT connection, while models FL-530 through FL-550 use a 76.2 mm (3") diameter body. Female NPT end fittings are standard, and a NIST traceable certificate is available by adding the "-NIST" suffix.

Configuration Options

The seven models differ in flow capacity and port size, but share the same ultra-pure wetted materials, ±5% FS accuracy, and pressure/temperature ratings. The smaller-bore FL-505UP, FL-510UP, and FL-515UP use a 1 FNPT connection on the 50.8 mm body, while FL-520UP through FL-550UP step up to a 1.5 FNPT connection on the 76.2 mm body.

Field-installable accessory switch kits extend the meters to signaling duty: the FL-500-S1 serves the FL-505, -510, and -515 sizes, and the FL-500-S2 serves the FL-520, -530, -540, and -550 sizes. Switch ratings are 8 W, 100 Vdc/120 Vac at 25°C (77°F), and the switch activates over a 25% FS band. An electro-polished 316 SS shaft and spring can be specified with the "-EP" suffix.

Key Product Differences

  • FL-505UP — 1 FNPT, 2 to 20 LPM (0.5 to 5 GPM).
  • FL-510UP — 1 FNPT, 4 to 38 LPM (1 to 10 GPM).
  • FL-515UP — 1 FNPT, 6 to 55 LPM (1.5 to 15 GPM).
  • FL-520UP — 1.5 FNPT, 8 to 75 LPM (2 to 20 GPM).
  • FL-530UP — 1.5 FNPT, 11 to 110 LPM (3 to 30 GPM).
  • FL-540UP — 1.5 FNPT, 15 to 150 LPM (4 to 40 GPM).
  • FL-550UP — 1.5 FNPT, 20 to 200 LPM (5 to 50 GPM).

All variants read on dual GPM/LPM scales and can be ordered with the -NIST or -EP suffixes plus the matching FL-500-S1 or FL-500-S2 switch kit.
