Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series IF Industrial Direct Reading Flowmeters are designed for gas or liquid metering in industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems. These variable area flow meters provide direct read scales that eliminate the need for correlation charts, facilitating immediate measurement of water and air service flows.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series supports a broad range of flow rates depending on tube size: 0.25 GPM (0.95 LPM) to 116 GPM (439 LPM) for water, and 1.2 SCFM (35 LPM) to 250 SCFM (7080 LPM) for air. Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±3% of FS and repeatability of ±0.5% of FS with a turn-down ratio of 10:1.

Operating limits are defined as follows:

• Temperature Limit: 200°F (93°C).
• Pressure Limit: 200 psi (13.8 bar) for tube sizes 1 through 4; reduced to 125 psi for tube size 5 and 6.
• Calibration Pressure: Calibrated at 14.7 psia (0 psig).

The meters feature a dual scale displaying GPM and SCFM directly on the face of the instrument.

Configuration Options

Series IF models are available in multiple configurations to accommodate different flow requirements, identified by model numbers ranging from IF2700 to IF2713 (and extended variants). The series offers three distinct tube sizes with corresponding process connections:

• Tube Size 1 and 2: 1/2" Female NPT connection.
• Tube Size 3 and 4: 1" Female NPT connection.
• Tube Size 5 and 6: 2" Female NPT connection.

The construction includes a borosilicate glass flowtube with wetted materials consisting of the float, guide rods, float stops, and end. Fittings are made from 316 SS, and O-rings utilize Fluoroelastomer. Side panels are constructed from 304 Stainless Steel.

Optional accessories include NIST traceable calibration certificates:

• NISTCAL-FL1: For variable air flowmeters.
• NISTCAL-FL2: For variable water flowmeters.

Note that certain models marked with an asterisk (*) in the model chart do not have NIST calibration available. The meters are supplied with two layers of 1/8" thick clear plastic front shields, and operation requires both shields to be in place for safety.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series IF differ primarily by maximum flow capacity and tube size dimensions. The model chart defines specific pressure drops (in H2O) associated with each model's rated flow, ranging from 2 to 70 in H2O depending on the configuration.

• Tube Size Grouping: Dimensions vary by group: Tube Sizes 1 and 2 share a height of 9.54 [242] inches/mm; Tube Sizes 3 and 4 measure 13.69 [348]; Tube Sizes 5 and 6 reach 15.59 [396].
• Scale Configuration: All models feature a direct read scale with no need for correlation charts.
• Mounting: The series requires vertical mounting orientation.
