Supported Applications
The HOBO MX1102 is a Bluetooth data logger that measures and records carbon dioxide, temperature, and relative humidity in buildings and other non-condensing environments, with a computed dew-point channel. Data can be accessed from a mobile phone or tablet through the free HOBOmobile app, and a USB port lets the same logger connect to a computer running HOBOware.
- Indoor air quality and CO2 monitoring in occupied buildings, measuring CO2 from 0 to 5,000 ppm.
- Ventilation and demand-controlled HVAC studies that correlate CO2 with temperature and humidity.
- Walk-by or connected data collection, offloading over BLE to a mobile device or over USB to a PC.

Operating Conditions & Performance
The logger combines a non-dispersive CO2 sensor with temperature and RH sensors:
- CO2 range: 0 to 5,000 ppm, with accuracy of ±50 ppm ±5% of reading at 25°C (77°F), less than 70% RH and 1,013 mbar.
- CO2 warm-up time: 15 seconds; calibration is auto or manual to 400 ppm, and non-linearity is <1% of FS.
- Temperature range: 0° to 50°C (32° to 122°F), accuracy ±0.21°C from 0° to 50°C (±0.38°F from 32° to 122°F), resolution 0.024°C at 25°C (0.04°F at 77°F).
- Relative humidity accuracy: ±2% from 20% to 80% typical at 25°C (77°F), with hysteresis of ±2% RH.
Humidity operating range depends on the CO2 sensor state: 1% to 70% RH when the CO2 sensor is enabled (non-condensing) and 1% to 90% RH when it is disabled (non-condensing). The logging rate is selectable from 1 second to 18 hours, memory holds 84,650 measurements, and power is supplied by user-replaceable 4AA batteries. The unit measures 7.62 x 12.95 x 4.78 cm (3.0 x 5.1 x 1.88 inches) and is CE compliant.
Configuration Options
The MX1102 ships as a single configuration, so the CO2, temperature, and RH sensor set, the USB port, and the display are common to every unit. The one capability that shifts with use rather than model is humidity coverage: enabling the CO2 sensor narrows the usable RH window to 1% to 70%, while disabling it widens the range to 1% to 90%.
