Supported Applications

The Omega FPUD500 Series high viscosity drum pumps are designed to empty a wide variety of containers in various applications. These modular units pump fluids up to 15,000 cps viscosity and 1.8 specific gravity. The series supports the transfer of flammable or combustible materials when configured with an air motor, stainless steel tube, and FPUD5-SK static protection kit for use in explosive environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FPUD500 Series operates on fluids up to 15,000 cps viscosity and 1.8 specific gravity with a process temperature limit of up to 93.3°C (200°F). Pump tubes feature graphite-PTFE seals and PTFE internals connected via 38 mm (1½") ID hose. Electric motors are totally-enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) continuous duty units, while air-driven models require specific supply pressures: FPUD531 requires 100 psi @ 70 cfm; FPUD532 and FPUD533 require 100 psi @ 125 cfm. The pump tube length is 1.0 m (3.3 ft) with a 2" diameter.

Motor Specifications

• Electric Motors: Available in 1, 2, or 3 HP ratings at 60 Hz. Single-phase models include FPUD511 (1 HP), FPUD512* (2 HP), and FPUD513* (3 HP) on 115/230 Vac; three-phase models include FPUD521 (1 HP), FPUD524 (2 HP), and FPUD525* (3 HP) on 230/460 Vac.
• Air Motors: Available in 1, 2, or 3 HP ratings. Models include FPUD531** (1 HP, 3000 RPM), FPUD532** (2 HP, 3000 RPM), and FPUD533** (3 HP, 2500 RPM). Air motors feature a stainless steel construction for hazardous environments.

Configuration Options

The series offers modular configuration with separate motor heads and pump tubes. Electric units include a 3.6 m (12') three-wire cord with a built-in ON/OFF switch. Air motors utilize connector types of ¼" female end fitting for FPUD531 or ½" female end fitting for FPUD532/FPUD533.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between electric and air-driven motor types. Electric models (FPUD51x, FPUD52x) are TEFC units powered by 115/230 Vac or 230/460 Vac at 60 Hz; the Hz rating and number of phases cannot be changed in the field. Air-driven models (FPUD53x) operate on compressed air and include CE certification for FPUD531, FPUD532, and FPUD533. The pump tube is supplied separately from the motor head to allow flexible configuration.

Weight varies by model: motors range from 9.6 kg (21 lb) for the FPUD531 air motor up to 46.3 kg (102 lb) for the FPUD513 electric motor; the FPUD5-S40 pump tube weighs 5.0 kg.
