Product Overview
- Series ID BBS-BBP-RLNC-TOOL
- Use with Heater Hook-up Wire
Supported Applications
The Omega BBS, BBP, RLNC, and RLNI series provides heater hook-up wire accessories designed for industrial heater connections. These components support high-temperature applications requiring robust electrical continuity in heated zones where ambient temperatures exceed the maximum ratings of standard insulated wires.
- Connections to heater terminals using bus bars or ring terminals
- Wire runs within heated process areas
- Abrasion and flexing protection for wiring harnesses via flexible metal armor (THE-0043)
- Insulation of high-current conductors in elevated temperature environments using porcelain insulators (BBINS)
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is engineered for specific thermal limits depending on the component material and construction. Bus bars support a maximum wire temperature of 600°C (1110°F). High-Temperature Ring Terminals (RLNC) are rated to 345°C (650°F), while Ultra-High-Temperature Ring Terminals (RLNI) operate up to 650°C (1200°F).
Current ratings for bus bars vary by construction: Solid Bus Bars (BBS) support 26A, and Perforated Bus Bars (BBP) support 23A. These current values are specified to cause the conductor to operate at 38°C (100°F) above surrounding ambient temperature.
Configuration Options
The series encompasses a range of accessories including crimping tools, bus bars, ring terminals in two material grades, porcelain insulators, and protective armor. Configurations are available to match specific wire gauges from 10 through 22 AWG.
Bus Bars
- BBS: Solid manganese-nickel bus bar; dimensions 13 mm (0.5") width x 15.7 mm (0.62") thickness.
- BBP: Perforated manganese-nickel bus bar; dimensions 13 mm (0.5") width x 15.7 mm (0.62") thickness.
Ring Terminals
- RLNC Series: High-Temperature Ring Terminals made of nickel-plated copper, uninsulated; available in sizes RLNC-12, RLNC-16, and RLNC-22.
- RLNI Series: Ultra-High-Temperature Ring Terminals made of 100% nickel, uninsulated; available in sizes RLNI-8, RLNI-12, RLNI-16, and RLNI-22.
Tools & Protection
- Crimping Tool (CT-HT): Heavy-duty tool serving as a wire cutter for copper and aluminum; crimps lugs onto 10 through 22 AWG solid or stranded wire.
- Porcelain Insulators (BBINS): Dimensions 13 mm (½") long x 21 mm (⅝") wide with a 3 mm (⅛") x 14 mm (⅝") slot; sold in quantities of 95 pieces per lb.
- Flexible Metal Armor (THE-0043): Provides abrasion and flexing protection; features a 4.8 mm (³⁄₁₆") ID and 6.8 ±15 mm (0.269 ±0.006") OD.
Key Product Differences
Differences within the series are defined by material composition, temperature rating, and physical construction:
- Material & Temperature Rating: RLNC terminals utilize nickel-plated copper for applications up to 345°C (650°F). RLNI terminals use 100% nickel for higher thermal limits of 650°C (1200°F).
- Bus Bar Construction: BBS models are solid manganese-nickel, while BBP models feature a perforated design; both share identical width and thickness dimensions but differ in current capacity.
- Wire Gauge Compatibility: Ring terminal sizes correspond to specific wire ranges: RLNC/RLNI-22 supports 22 to 16 AWG; -16 supports 16 to 14 AWG; and -12 supports 12 to 10 AWG.

Very well Satisfied
The parts and tool I bought worked well together, as I expected, from the technical descriptions provided. I was pleased that I could all that I needed from a single source.

Marvelously malleable
These high temperature rated crimp rings arrived quickly, and give a nice smooth swedge. Some metals feel brittle, but these anchor with confidence.
