Supported Applications

The Omega DPG409 is a high accuracy digital pressure gauge designed for harsh industrial environments, specifically engineered to survive washdown and marine applications. The series incorporates a rugged enclosure suitable for these demanding conditions while providing precise measurement across multiple pressure types.

 • Gauge Pressure
 • Absolute Pressure
 • Sealed Gauge Pressure
 • Compound Gauge Pressure
 • Vacuum Measurement
 • Barometric Pressure

Operating Conditions & Performance

The DPG409 series utilizes a precision silicon sensor with 316L stainless steel wetted parts, delivering an accuracy of ±0.08% BSL (compound gauge calibrated in positive direction only). The measurement range spans from 0-10 inH2O to 0-5000 psi (0-25 mb to 0-345 bar).

 • Operating Temperature: -18 to 66°C (0 to 150°F)
 • Storage Temperature: -40 to 82°C (-40 to 180°F)
 • Hysteresis and Repeatability: ±0.08% BSL
 • Long Term Stability: ±0.1% FS typical (1-yr)
 • Pressure Cycles: 1 million minimum

The unit features a large display with 25 mm (1") character height, readable at distances up to 11 m (35"). The sample/display rate is user selectable from 0.38 to 30 sec., preset to 1/sec.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options for pressure type, range, and output requirements within a weatherproof NEMA 4X (IP65) enclosure constructed of 316 stainless steel with an ABS center gasket. The standard process connection is ¼-18 NPT male.

Power & Output

The gauge operates on two included 1.5 V alkaline C cell batteries (typical life up to 9 months) or an externally supplied dc voltage source required for analog output operation. User selectable analog outputs include:

 • 0 to 5 Vdc
 • 0 to 10 Vdc
 • 4 to 20 mA

Note: Compound gauge ranges have a unidirectional analog output equal to their full span (e.g., -15 to +15 psi = 0 to 10 Vdc). A set jumper selects current or voltage.

Configuration & Wireless Options

A standard USB connection allows setup via included configuration software, enabling selection of sample interval, units (psi, inHg, inH2O, bar, mbar, hPa), backlight settings, and High/Low alarm limits. An optional wireless transmitter feature (-W suffix) transmits data to a remote PC for charting and logging.

 • Wireless Frequency: ISM 2.4 GHz
 • Range (Line of Sight): Up to 120 m (400") outdoors; up to 40 m (130") indoors/urban
 • Compatible Receivers: UWTC-REC1, UWTC-REC2-(*) , UWTC-REC2-D-(*)

Key Product Differences

The DPG409 series is distinguished by its pressure type and range suffixes. Sealed gauge models are identified by the "SG" suffix (available on ranges ≥100 psi). Wireless capability is added via the "-W" suffix.

 • Pressure Types: Gauge, Absolute, Vacuum, Compound, Barometric
 • Ranges: 0-10 inH2O to 0-5000 psi (and metric equivalents)

The series includes a containment pressure rating that varies by range. For gauge pressures of 10 inH2O to 5 psi, the limit is up to 1000 psi; for 15 to 1000 psi ranges, it is up to 3000 psi; and for 1500 to 5000 psi ranges, containment reaches 10,000 psi. Absolute/Barometric pressure models (5 to 1000 psi) have a limit of 6000 psia.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good pressure gauge/transmitter. Could be improved I bought several of these a year or two ago. They work well, are easy to see, and the face can be rotated 15 degrees or so in either direction to make viewing easier. Set up is very easy. However, there is room for several improvements: 1.) Add a jack or plug for an optional power supply. I bought a cheap 24 VDC plug in transformer and hard wired it to the gauge. Had to add a second M12 seal to accommodate the wires. 2.) For the absolute pressure versions (used in vacuum service), add optional units of 'torr' or 'mmHg'. 3.) Add a clip or holder for the magnetic dongle thing, or just use tactile or light buttons instead. The magnet hanging down sometimes gets in the way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems We bought 3 DPG409 5.0KG-W. These are the wireless version. Our company has had nothing but problems. From the new batteries not working, to lapses in data capturing on a 4 hour test, one will randomly turn off. We have never had all three working at the same time I have sent units back twice and each time I received no updates and had to drag it back from customer service. I was excited to upgrade our facility and make it safer with no cords in walking paths. I not happy so far.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great until they broke. We purchased four of these gauges about two years ago. Two of which have been in continuous service. After about 1.5 years without problems on battery power, they are no longer reliable. They shut themselves off regularly unless you change the batteries every few days. We even tried direct wiring to a power supply, but even that didn't work. The gauges started flashing back and forth between on for a few seconds and then showed a black screen for a few seconds. Based on some of the earlier reviews (6 years ago!) it seems like this issue has been around for a while. Very disappointing that such expensive instruments seem to break almost as soon as they are out of warranty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent for wireless transmission This is a decent product for a ~300 ft range. Pros and cons: - Easy setup, clearly see screen, 4-20ma option, antenna included, free software and recording. - No good for heavy/constant rain (extra cover needed), $250 calibration, not compatible with newer receivers.

Does the 0.08% accuracy apply for both the 0-1 and 0-5 psi gauge type sensors and is this full scale accuracy?

Asked by: loganj
Yes, It applies to both 0 to 1 PSI & 0 to 5 PSI ranges. It is full scale accuracy.

What is the operating Relative Humidity Range for the DPG409-100G Pressure Gauge?

Asked by: zxcv
If you are humidity of the environment the DPG409 has NEMA-4X rating. 100% humidity would be fine. It would even take a moderate water spray on the unit.
