Supported Applications
The Omega FL900 Series consists of heavy-duty variable area flowmeters designed for measuring the flow rate of water and air. These instruments feature stainless steel enclosures suitable for vertical or horizontal mounting configurations in industrial environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series provides a measurement range from 0.64 GPM to 132.00 GPM for water models and 2.7 SCFM to 350.0 SCFM for air models, with an accuracy of ±2% Full Scale and repeatability of ±0.5%. The maximum process temperature is rated at 93°C (200°F). Pressure ratings vary by model size from 125 psi to 300 psi. Wetted parts are constructed from 316L SS, EPR O-rings, and borosilicate glass.
Configuration Options
The FL900 Series is available with multiple process connection sizes and housing dimensions to accommodate different flow requirements:
- Process Connections: 1/2 FNPT, 1 FNPT, and 2 FNPT.
- Housing Materials: 304 SS case and covers with rotatable fittings made of 316L SS featuring dual ports.
- Safety Features: Includes a unique float stop design for easy internal replacement, 4.76 mm thick polycarbonate safety shields, and detachable clear polycarbonate scale plates.
- Scale Options: Direct-reading scales available in GPM (water) or SCFM (air).
NIST Calibration is an optional accessory. To order a 5-point calibration certificate, add the suffix “-NIST 5PT”; for a 10-point calibration, use the suffix “-NIST 10PT”.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between two primary float guidance mechanisms based on model designation:
- “G” Models: Feature rib-guided floats. Examples include FL901G through FL904G and air models FL910G through FL912G.
- “P” Models: Feature pole-guided floats. Examples include water models FL904P, FL906P, FL908P and air models FL913P, FL915P, FL917P.
Specific operational constraints apply to certain variants; for instance, the FL917P model requires a minimum 30 psi outlet pressure to prevent float instability. Weights vary by connection size: models with 1/2 and 1 FNPT connections weigh 9 kg (20 lb), while those with larger fittings may weigh up to 13.6 kg (30 lb).
