Supported Applications

The Omega TW/TWC STRIPALL series consists of handheld thermal wire strippers designed for plastic and rubber covered wire. These tools are engineered for electronic assembly to aerospace standards, combining high production rates with wiring reliability. The series is especially valuable for fine gage wire applications where precision stripping is required.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The rugged alloy blades heat to 926°C (1700°F) in less than two seconds and cool instantly. Models feature a unique adjustable gage stop ranging from #10 to #38 AWG, which prevents pressure on the conductor to eliminate nicks or deformation. The cut is clean and square with no sleeving melted into wire strands, leaving ends ready for soldering immediately after stripping.

Power requirements vary by voltage configuration:

• Standard Wire Strippers: 115 Vac, 60 Hz line voltage, 60 watts
• High Voltage OMEGA Wire Strippers: 220 Vac, 60 Hz line voltage, 60 watts (add "220" to the model number)

The units are self-contained and require no external transformer or power supplies.

Configuration Options

The series offers multiple configurations tailored for specific stripping tasks:

• TW-1 (Standard Model): Designed for general production work with adjustable stops for wire gage and strip length.
• TWC-1 (Controlled Temperature): Includes a solid-state temperature control unit. Temperature is adjustable from 38°C (100°F) to above 926°C (1700°F). The control mounts as an electrical outlet and blades reach the selected temperature in less than two seconds.
• TW-2 LN (Long Nose): Strips up to 90 mm (3.5") in a single action using four extra-long electrodes, useful for inaccessible areas.
• TW-6 (Cable Stripper): Designed for slitting and removing outer coverings of cables, including PFA coated and low-temperature coaxial coverings. Suitable for coax cable or wire diameters 15.8 mm (0.625") or less.
• TWC-6 (Controlled Temperature): Same as the TW-6 but includes a temperature control unit adjustable from 38°C (100°F) to above 926°C (1700°F).

The series supports several options and accessories:

• Bench-Mounting Fixture: Model TBM holds any STRIPALL wire stripper in a fixed work position; the unit can be removed for handheld operation.
• Temperature Control Unit (TC-1): Included with TWC-1 and TWC-6 models, available separately to reduce blade temperature for sensitive insulation materials on other models.
• Replacement Blades:
  • RBN: Notched blades for two-blade models (comes installed as 10 to 25 AWG).
  • RVUN: Unnotched blades for fine gage wire 26 to 38 AWG.
  • RBN-6-TW6: Replacement blade specifically for TW-6 and TWC-6 models.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction within the series is between standard thermal strippers (TW-series) and controlled temperature versions (TWC-series). The TWC variants include a solid-state Temperature Control Unit that allows adjustment of blade heat, whereas TW models operate at fixed high temperatures. Additionally, specific geometries address different media: the Long Nose model extends reach for inaccessible areas, while the Cable Stripper variant is configured with features to slit and remove outer coverings from larger diameter cables up to 15.8 mm (0.625"). High voltage models are identified by appending "220" to the standard model number.
