Supported Applications

The Omega OM-EL-DATAPAD is a handheld programmer and data collector designed for the OM-EL-USB Series of temperature and humidity data loggers. It enables users to configure, download data from, and view logging results directly on-site without removing loggers from their environment or transferring them immediately to a PC.

The unit supports field operations where immediate access to logger status is required, allowing for the review of up to 100 active loggers while storing data from an additional 400 units. Data collected by the OM-EL-DATAPAD can be transferred to a personal computer via micro USB and saved in comma-separated variable (CSV) format for import into spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or graphed using the included OM-EL-WIN-USB Windows software.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The OM-EL-DATAPAD operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F). It features a rechargeable lithium polymer battery that provides up to 8 hours of typical operating time on a single charge, with approximately 5 hours available for continuous use. The unit is powered and recharged via the included micro-USB connection.

Performance specifications include an internal flash memory capable of storing over 8.5 million readings typically. The display consists of a 240 x 320 resolution, 2.8" TFT touchscreen. Physical dimensions are 107 H x 68 W x 19 mm D (4.2 x 2.7 x 0.7") with a weight of 110 g (3.9 oz). Power is managed via a single front-panel push-button: a single press turns the unit ON, while pressing and holding for 3 seconds turns it OFF.

Configuration Options

The series includes specific connectivity options to interface with data loggers and host computers:

Data Logger Connection: A USB Type-A socket located on the top of the unit connects compatible OM-EL-USB Series data loggers.
PC Connection: A micro-USB port on the bottom of the unit connects to a PC via the included 1 m (3.3') USB cable for data transfer and charging.

The standard package includes the OM-EL-WIN-USB Windows software, the rechargeable lithium battery, the operator's manual, and the connection cable. An optional protective rubber boot is available under model number OM-EL-BOOT to provide additional protection for the handheld unit.
