Supported Applications

The Omega PCL1000 is a high-accuracy multifunction calibrator designed to read and source thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, voltage, current, frequency, resistance, and pressure signals. It combines the functions of a precision calibrator and multimeter for process device calibration tasks.

Documented measurement types include:

• RTD (Pt 385: 100, 200, 500, 1 kΩ; Pt 392: JIS, Ni120, Cu10)

Operating Conditions & Performance

The unit operates with a power supply of 4 "AA" batteries (included), providing typical battery life of 25 hours. Physical dimensions are 221 H x 107 W x 58 mm D (8.7 x 4.2 x 2.3") and weight is 0.9 kg (1.9 lb). A protective rubber boot is included.

• Voltage: Low: 0 to 20.000 Vdc (read and source); High: 0 to 250 Vdc or Vac (read only)
• Current: 0 to 24.000 mA
• Resistance: 0 to 400.00 Ω and 400 to 3200 Ω
• Frequency (CPM): Source 2 to 1000.0; measure 0 to 1000.0
• Frequency (Hz): Source 0 to 1000; measure 0 to 1000.0
• Frequency (kHz): Source 1 to 10.0; measure 0 to 10.00
• Pressure: Ranges from 5 to 5000 psig via optional PCL-PM modules, including vacuum, absolute, compound, and differential pressures.

• User Interface: Direct keyboard entry with storage of up to 9 setpoints per output.
• Communication: RS232 interface available. Note: Pressure module uses RS232 output; computer connection via RS232 is not possible while a pressure module is connected.

Key Product Differences

The base model PCL1000 is a high-accuracy multifunction calibrator. Pressure capability requires the addition of specific accessories:

• PCL-PMA: Required pressure module adaptor for connecting PCL-PM modules.
• 700MA: Required adaptor to RS232 port for pressure module communication.
• PCL1000-SCC: Soft carrying case (optional).

The PCL-PM series modules are sold separately and required for pressure applications. The base unit does not include a built-in pressure sensor; it interfaces with external modules via the RS232 port using the specified adaptors.
