Supported Applications
The Omega RTD-809 Series consists of encapsulated Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) sensors designed for surface temperature measurements. These flat disc-style sensors bond to surfaces to measure heat loss or operating temperatures.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series utilizes a 100 Ω Class "A" DIN platinum sensing element with 3-wire construction. The maximum process temperature is rated at 230°C (450°F). Accuracy specifications include IEC Class A, defined as ±0.15°C @ 0°C.
Configuration Options
The RTD-809 Series offers multiple termination options to accommodate different connection requirements:
- Standard Termination: Miniature Connector (MTP).
- Heavy-Duty Option: OTP connector, designated by adding "-OTP" to the model number.
- Audio Connector Option: TA3F connector, designated by adding "-TA3F" to the model number.
All models include a 1 m (40") PFA insulated cable. Mating connectors and cable clamps are sold separately as accessories. Compatible mating hardware includes the MTP-U-F for standard units and OTP-U-F for heavy-duty variants, with corresponding cable clamp model numbers PCLM-MTP and PCLM.

Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by their termination type. The base model RTD-809 features a standard miniature connector. Models with heavy-duty OTP connectors or audio TA3F connectors require specific suffixes in the part number (e.g., RTD-809-OTP, RTD-809-TA3F). While all variants share the same 100 Ω Class "A" DIN element and maximum temperature rating of 230°C (450°F), they differ by connector style and required mating hardware.

Great sensors
They are great sensors. They act as you would expect a pt100 to act, they're unobtrusive, and so far have been reliable. I use wide zipties to hold them in position while the epoxy cures over the day.
However I have no need for the connectors. A connector like that is asking for a failed connection in the environments I work in. I would prefer no connector or have an M12 connector directly attached to the puck. The insulation could also be thicker but that seems standard for many of these sensors with wires from Omega.

What is the size of the sensor disk?
Thank you for connecting with Omega! The sensor disc is: 11 mm (7⁄16") diameter, 3 mm (1⁄8") thick sensor for surface mounting and can be cemented into place for permanent mounting or fixed using adhesive tape. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

How can mount this on vertical vibrated surface ? do we need to use adhesive or silicon ,or is it magnetic ?
Thank you for your inquiry. This RTD is not vibration rated so it cannot be used on a vibrating surface. It is not magnetic. You need to use a thermally conductive epoxy adhesive or a cement to bond it to the surface.
