Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series G9 Globe Flow Switch is designed for accurate flow detection in water and oil. The series provides a mechanism to trigger alarms on interlocking shutdown circuitry when the flow rate is incorrect, as well as protecting bearings, gears, and cooling systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series G9 operates within a process temperature range of -20 to 180°F (-29 to 82°C) with a maximum pressure rating of 400 psi (27 bar) @ 100°F (37.8°C). Performance specifications include ±1% repeatability and set point accuracy of ±10%. The switch type is SPDT, rated for resistive loads including 17A @ 120 VAC, .08A @ 240 VAC, .13A @ 120 VDC, and .06A @ 240 VDC. A required filtration of 150 microns or better is specified for proper operation.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable actuation set point ranges to match specific flow requirements:
- G9-21: 0.75 - 4.0 GPM (2.8 - 15.1 LPM)
- G9-22: 2.0 - 8.0 GPM (7.6 - 30.3 LPM)
- G9-23: 7.0 - 14.0 GPM (26.5 - 53.0 LPM)
Construction features a bronze housing with wetted materials including Acetal for the shuttle, 316 SS spring, Fluoroelastomer O-ring, and Ceramic components. The unit includes 18 AWG, 24" (61 cm) polymeric lead wires for electrical termination and utilizes a 3/4" female NPT process connection.
Key Product Differences
The Series G9 is distinguished by its external adjustment capability; a shuttle bypass vane inside the housing allows flow settings to be changed using an ordinary flat blade screwdriver without disassembly. While set points are based on a vertical, lead wires up position, the unit supports mounting in any orientation.
