Supported Applications
The Omega PX103 series comprises fully flush diaphragm pressure transducers engineered for critical applications involving hard-to-measure fluids. The non-plugging design supports wastewater management, chemical manufacturing, water processing, and tank or level monitoring where media compatibility is essential.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series offers measurement ranges from 0 to 15 psi up to 0 to 20,000 psi (0 to 1 bar to 0 to 1379 bar). Accuracy specifications vary by range: <100 psi: ±1% FSO linearity, hysteresis and repeatability combined; ≥100 psi: ±0.5% FSO linearity, hysteresis and repeatability combined.
Ambient operating temperatures are defined by range: <100 psi: -40 to 82°C (-40 to 180°F); ≥100 psi: -46 to 121°C (-50 to 250°F). Process operating temperatures are: <100 psi: -45 to 93°C (-50 to 200°F); ≥100 psi: -45 to 121°C (-50 to 250°F).
Pressure limits are specified as follows: Proof Pressure is 200% of rated pressure for ranges <100 psi and 150% of rated pressure (30,000 psi maximum) for ranges ≥100 psi. Burst Pressure is 500% of rated pressure for ranges <100 psi and 300% of rated pressure (50,000 psi maximum) for ranges ≥100 psi.
Configuration Options
The PX103 series is available in two primary output configurations: the PX103U-5V with an amplified 0.5 to 5.5 Vdc output, and the PX103-i with a low-noise 4 to 20 mA output. Both require a power supply of 10 to 30 Vdc.
Measurement types include Absolute Pressure, Gage Pressure, and Sealed Gage Pressure. The housing is constructed from all stainless steel. Wetted materials differ by pressure range: 316 stainless steel for ranges <100 psi and 17-4 PH stainless steel for ranges ≥100 psi.
Electrical connection options include a standard 3 m (10') 4-conductor shielded PVC cable or the PTIH-10-6P connector style. The overall dimensions are 89 mm (3.5 in) length and 19 mm (0.75 in) diameter.
Available accessories include:
- PT06F10-6S-R Mating connector for PX103U1 series transducers
- AD-1SS Flush Mount Adaptor (10,000 psi, 316 SS, 1/4 NPT male)
- AD-3SS Flush Mount Adaptor (10,000 psi, 316 SS, 1 NPT male flush mounting)
- #2-018-V FKM O-Rings (Pack of 10, for pressures under 10,000 psi)
- #2-018-P Polyurethane O-Rings (Pack of 15, for pressures of 10,000 psi and higher)
Approvals include NIST Standard and RoHS.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between the PX103U-5V (voltage output) and PX103-i (current output) families. Model numbers indicate electrical connection style: '0' denotes cable style, while '1' denotes connector style.
Pressure type is indicated by a letter code in the model number: 'G' for Gage Pressure, 'A' for Absolute Pressure, and 'S' for Sealed Gage Pressure. Extra lead lengths beyond the standard 3 m (10') are available as an option with additional cost.
Wetted material selection is determined by the pressure range: ranges below 100 psi utilize 316 stainless steel, while ranges of 100 psi and above utilize 17-4 PH stainless steel. Metric ranges are available upon consultation with Engineering.
