The Omega OM-AMU series consists of non-metallic fiberglass enclosures designed for indoor and outdoor electrical protection. These NEMA 4X (IP66) rated junction boxes are engineered to house instrumentation, control components, and wiring in environments requiring resistance to corrosion and weather exposure.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is constructed from a fiberglass reinforced polyester formulation with a UL 94 flammability rating. The enclosures maintain integrity within a service temperature range of -35 to 130°C (-31 to 266°F). They carry NEMA, IEC, RoHS, and CSA approvals alongside UL certification.

Configuration Options

The OM-AMU series offers a broad envelope of configurations defined by box size, cover type, closure mechanism, and mounting options. The following capabilities are available across the documented model range:

  • Sizes: Box dimensions ranging from 6 x 6 inches (OM-AMU664) to 20 x 16 inches (OM-AMU2060), with depths of 4, 6, 8, and 10 inches.
  • Cover Types: Solid covers or clear polycarbonate viewing windows. Models designated with 'W' include a window; models with 'CC' feature a clear cover.
  • Closure Mechanisms: Options include screw closures, snap latches (padlocking), and twist latches (padlocking).
  • Hinge Configurations: Models are available without hinges or with factory-installed hinges for door operation.
  • Mounting: Factory installed mounting flanges support wall installation. Pole mount kits are offered as accessories for enclosures up to 16 inches wide.

The series supports the addition of sub-panels in fiberglass, aluminum, or steel, and front panels in aluminum. Detailed dimensional data—including usable depth, panel boss centers, flange mount centers, foot mount centers, cover size, nominal wall thickness, and window dimensions—are provided for each model number.
