Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 673 is a fixed-range pressure transmitter designed for harsh environments and suitable for high shock and vibration applications. The series provides a 4-20 mA output signal with ±0.25% accuracy, intended for use in industrial OEM equipment, hydraulic systems, HVAC equipment, industrial engines, and compressor controls.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 673 measures pressure from compatible liquid, gas, or vapor services using wetted materials of 17-4 PH stainless steel. The transmitter operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 185°F (-40 to 85°C) and an ambient compensated temperature range of -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C). Performance specifications include ±0.25% BFSL (RSS) accuracy, which encompasses non-linearity, hysteresis, and non-repeatability. The device features a response time of 5 ms, stability of 0.5% FS/year, and withstands shock up to 200 g and vibration up to 20 g.

Pressure limits are rated at 2 x max range for the selected model. Thermal effects include zero shift of ±3.6% FS/100°F (±3.6% FS/50°C) and span shift of ±2.7% FS/100°F (±2.4% FS/50°C). The transmitter requires a power supply of 9-30 VDC with a loop resistance capability from 0 to 800 Ω.

Configuration Options

The series offers multiple fixed pressure ranges and two distinct housing configurations. Available measurement ranges include:

  • 0 to 1 psi, 0 to 2 psi, 0 to 5 psi, 0 to 10 psi
  • 0 to 25 psi, 0 to 50 psi, 0 to 100 psi, 0 to 200 psi
  • 0 to 500 psi, 0 to 1000 psi
  • -14.7 to 100 psi (compound range)

Housing options include a cable anchor version with a 2 ft (61 cm) multi-conductor cable and a conduit version featuring a 1/4"-18 (22.3 mm) knockout for electrical connection. Both versions utilize an enclosure constructed of stainless steel and Valox, with a process connection of 1/4 NPT.

An optional accessory is available: order code NISTCAL-PT1 provides a NIST traceable calibration certificate.

Key Product Differences

The Series 673 model numbers distinguish between the two electrical connection styles. Models ending in "C" (e.g., 673-1C, 673-10C) represent the conduit version, which is hand tightened to ensure a proper electrical seal. Standard models without the suffix utilize the cable anchor configuration with an integrated multi-conductor cable.
