Supported Applications
The Omega HX200 Series comprises humidity probes and electronic modules designed for dew point, relative humidity (RH), and temperature measurements. These transmitters are engineered for compressed air and dryer applications, as well as environmental chambers, clean rooms, and high-temperature processes.
Key application constraints include non-condensing conditions with a maximum dew point of 95°C; the series is not intended for live steam or submersion in liquids. Sufficient airflow to the sensor is required to maintain response performance.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HX200 Series operates across process temperatures from 0°C to 200°C, with electronics rated for ambient conditions of 0°C to 85°C. The probe construction utilizes stainless steel (304 SS sensor body and mesh filter top) coupled with a high-temperature cable.
- Measurement Ranges:-60 to 40°C dew point; 0 to 100% RH; 0 to 200°C temperature. Relative humidity measurement is specified for 0 to 95% RH (non-condensing).
- Dew Point Accuracy:±1.0°C from -20 to 40°C (-4 to 104°F); ±3.0°C below -20°C (-4°F).
- Relative Humidity Accuracy:±1% RH at 25°C; ±1% RH from 15 to 40°C (59 to 104°F) for 0 to 90% RH. Below 15°C or above 40°C, accuracy is ±2% RH.
- Temperature Accuracy:±0.5°C from 0 to 100°C; ±1°C >100°C.
- Resolution:0.03% RH or 0.03°C (output signal); display resolutions of 0.1% RH and 0.1°C are recommended.
The series supports pressure ratings up to 750 psi (51.7 bar). Each unit includes a NIST traceable calibration certificate, with calibration performed at -60°C (-76°F).
Configuration Options
The HX200 Series offers configurable mounting styles and output options to suit specific installation needs.
Mounting Configurations
- Remote Mount:Probe with 1-meter cable (except wall units). Includes a ½" NPT stainless steel fitting. A ½" ID mounting clamp is available as an accessory but not provided.
- Wall Mount (-W):Dedicated housing for direct wall installation.
Output Signals & Power
- Analog Output:4 to 20 mA loop powered. For HX200HR models, the output corresponds to 0-100% RH; for HX200HD models, it corresponds to -60 to 40°C dew point.
- Digital Output (-RS):Bidirectional RS-232C outputs stream RH, dew point, and temperature data. Note that loop power will not function when using the RS232 output on HX200-RS models.
- Power Supply:12 to 28 Vdc (max 25 mA); 24 Vdc is recommended for analog operation.
Sensor Selection & Switching
Circuit board switches allow the user to select between Dew Point or RH measurement modes and toggle display units between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The HX200-RS models meet specifications for both HD (Dew Point) and HR (RH) series.
Key Product Differences
The series is divided into two primary functional families based on the measured parameter, with further differentiation by mounting style and communication protocol:
- HX200HD Series:Dew Point/Temperature Transmitters. Available in Remote (HX200HD), Wall Mount (HX200HD-W), and RS-232 variants (HX200HD-RS, HX200HD-W-RS).
- HX200HR Series:Relative Humidity/Temperature Transmitters. Available in Remote (HX200HR), Wall Mount (HX200HR-W), and RS-232 variants (HX200HR-RS, HX200HR-W-RS).
All models feature a probe length of 6.5" (185mm) with an outer diameter of 0.5" (13mm). The series carries CE and RoHS compliance markings and includes a standard one-year warranty, extendable via the OMEGACARE™ program.

Good product
Using 4 to monitor dew point in compressed air system. Using a rs232 to ethernet comverter to pull data into database. Works great.
Improvements to get 5 stars
1. Make the sensor replaceable by adding a plug
2. Replace power plug with a 5 pin m12 so you do not have to drill a hole in the housing to get serial communication out of unit.

works great in extreme environments
This instrument is more accurate than all of the other brands we have tried. It works great even through a high vibration environment where others fail

Works Great!
Just finished installing yesterday, easy set up. Being used in Dew Point mode, and switched over via internal dip switched. This unit is loop powered, so it will require a 24vdc separate power source.

The manual indicates serial communications are possible but does not show the pin out to connect a cable. Could such documentation be added to the manual?
It's been one year and this still hasn't been added to the manual. As well, it's very unclear if the power connection can also be used to receive the 4-20 mA signal. The manual is poorly written.

Is the cable running from the transmitter to the probe capable of up to 200C temperatures? Also is there a measurement for the diameter of the cable?
Thank you for the inquiry. Yes, the cable is capable of being exposed to up to 200C temperatures. The cable diameter is 5/32”.
