Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate everytime. I use these probes in my all 3 of my vacuum reflow furnaces. Each furnace has 4 probes installed into graphite fixtures and are within +-1 degree C of each other. I utilize the different lengths options to reach all my fixtures. They are flexible and fairly robust. Uniformity is key in my industry and this is just another tool to ensure quality for our customers.

What pressure are these thermocouples rated for?

Asked by: Ellie2022
Thank you for your inquiry Ellie2022. To expand on my previous answer, the sealed metal sheath portion of probe is pressure rated for G or U junctions, but not for E since G and U can be used with a compression fitting. The TJ spring section is not pressure rated.

Hi, What is the max temperature rating for the wire that connects the probe to the K-type connector? It looks like plastic shielding on the wire and I don't want to melt it.

Asked by: SLC1
Thank you for your inquiry. The max temperature the wire can handle is 260C (500F)

What length needs to be inserted into the process for an accurate reading with a 6inch probe?

Asked by: Peter00
Hi Peter, considering the thermocouple sensor is at the tip of the probe, it would be safe to assume 0.5-1 inch would be needed to get an accurate reading.

Can these be attached to a 2.5mm jack for use with a wireless bbq style type thermometer?

Asked by: Schwonkhead
Hi Schwonkhead, If your thermometer accepts a type K thermocouple then possibly yes. You'll need to check the wireless thermometer input specifications. Best regards OMEGA

Does the Super Omegaclad XL sheath have copper in it? I need a highly corrosion resistant sheath without copper (like Inconel 625), since copper will promote coking in my application.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Anonymous Thank you for the inquiry. The outer sheath of the XL version probes is Inconel 600 alloy. The inner sheath has a proprietary treatment to provide better high temperature performance. Best regards OMEGA

Will this come NIST traceable calibrated? Can it be Accredited Calibration... with uncertainties?

Asked by: SuperJeff
Hi SuperJeff, Thank you for the inquiry. We offer NIST traceable calibration as an add-on. You can generate part# and price using the "Configure Now" button at the top of this page. We are not accredited ISO17025 unfortunately. Best regards OMEGA

Hello, Can this thermocouple be welded around section B? Also, is it able to withstand pressures to up to 500 psi? Thank you

Asked by: Appm
The B section is where the Thermocouple wire is attached to the extension wire and potted. A tack weld could probably be made with a minimal amount of heat being applied. Omega does not pressure rate the probes but they do get used often in elevated pressures as what your inquiry suggests. If you need a probe with a pressure rating then the only one Omega offers is the pipe plug probe series.
