Supported Applications

The Dwyer Model DPL110 is a dual point level switch designed to maintain high and low liquid limits by sensing process conductivity. The series supports single or dual point level control in semi-solid liquids, industrial slurries, and heavy-bodied fluids such as wastewater. Documented applications include food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals, caustics and acids handling, sumps, reservoirs, boilers and steam generators, ponds, sewage, and wastewater systems.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Model DPL110 operates with a maximum process temperature of 212°F (100°C) and a pressure rating of 30 psig (2.06 bar). The sensing voltage is 12 VAC, powered by a 120 VAC 50/60 Hz supply. The probe enclosure carries an IP68 (NEMA 6) or NEMA 6 (IP67) rating depending on the source document context; both ratings indicate protection against dust and water immersion suitable for wet environments. Wetted parts are constructed from 316 Stainless Steel and polypropylene, described as all food grade materials.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable probe lengths to accommodate various installation depths. Standard electrodes feature a 1/8" diameter with a 24" length. These can be cut by the end-user or extended using optional DPL5 electrode extensions (three 24" sections) to reach a maximum recommended overall length of 72" (1.8 m). The connecting cable between probe and controller is standard at 10 ft (3.0 m).

Key configuration parameters include:

• Sensor Element: Adjustable sensitivity up to 100,000 Ohms.
• Output Signal: SPDT relay rated at 5 Amps @240 VAC (or 5 A @ 240 VAC).
• Process Connection: 1" male NPT mounting for the sensor head.
• Controller Mounting: Standard octal socket or 35mm DIN rail mountable via screw terminals located on the socket mount.

The primary model in this series is DPL110, defined as a dual point level switch. An accessory option, Model DPL5, provides electrode extensions and mounting hardware to increase probe length beyond the standard 24" configuration. The unit contains no moving parts and includes adjustable sensitivity controls. Per manufacturer warnings, the device is not field serviceable; repairs require returning the unit with an authorization number.
