Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series THC is a digital temperature and humidity controller designed for ON-OFF, neutral zone, and refrigeration control modes. The unit supports dual temperature probes for defrosting applications and controls humidity via compatible sensors with 0-1V, 0-3V, or 4-20mA outputs. It features programmable parameters for setpoints, differentials, alarms, and operation modes intended for industrial environmental control.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series THC measures temperature from -58 to 302°F (-50 to 150°C) with a resolution of 0.1° (3 digits). Temperature accuracy is specified as ±0.5% of probe range or better than 0.5% of full scale, depending on the source document context. Humidity measurement covers 0 to 100% RH with a resolution of 1% (3 digits) and an accuracy of ±3% FS.

The controller operates in ambient temperatures from 32 to 158°F (0 to 70°C). Storage temperature ranges are documented as -4 to 176°F (-20 to 80°C). The unit features a dual display with two 3-digit readouts and provides four independent relay outputs rated at SPST, 8 A @ 250 VAC (datasheet) or SPDT, 10A RL @ 250Vac (manual).

Configuration Options

The series is available in two primary model configurations based on temperature units:

  • THC-30: Temperature display and control in °F.
  • THC-31: Temperature display and control in °C.

The controller accepts up to two temperature probe inputs (thermistors) and one humidity sensor input. Power supply options include 24Vdc ± 10% or 24-240Vac ± 10%. The enclosure provides front panel protection rated IP65 per the manual, while the datasheet lists a rating of IP64.

Available accessories for configuration include:

  • THC-P: Humidity probe with 3 V output and 4 ft (1.2 m) cable.
  • TS-5 / TS-51: Temperature probes with PVC sheath, available in 5 ft (1.5 m) or 10 ft (3 m) lengths.
  • TS-6 / TS-61: Temperature probes with metal sheath, available in 5 ft (1.5 m) or 10 ft (3 m) lengths.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the Series THC models is the temperature unit of measure: THC-30 operates in Fahrenheit, while THC-31 operates in Celsius. Both variants share identical measurement ranges for humidity and temperature magnitude, power requirements, relay output configurations, and physical dimensions (approximately 5.3 x 4.1 x 2.4 inches or 134x105x61mm). The unit includes nonvolatile memory backup to retain settings during power interruptions.
