Supported Applications

The Omega TCL-Series comprises two distinct precision calibration instruments: the TCL-165S-D Precision Hot/Cold Dry Block Calibrator and the TCL-M255S-B Precision Micro Bath Calibrator. The dry block model is designed for calibrating temperature measuring instruments and sensors using a removable insert. The micro bath model utilizes calibration fluid, typically silicone oil, to support immersion calibration, offering advantages for sensors with unusual shapes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series provides two distinct measurement envelopes based on the specific instrument type:

• TCL-165S-D (Dry Block): Temperature range of -35 to 165°C (-31 to 329°F).
• TCL-M255S-B (Micro Bath): Temperature range from Ambient to 255°C (491°F).

Both models share an accuracy of ± 0.2°C (± 0.36°F) and stability of ± 0.05°C (± 0.09°F). The measurement zone for both units is defined as 110 to 150 mm (4.33 to 5.91"). Resolution varies by range: 0.01°C/0.02°F in the -9.99 to 99.99°C/4.02 to 211.98°F span, and 0.1°C (0.18°F) elsewhere.

Configuration Options

The series offers specific configurations for block geometry, power requirements, and accessories:

• TCL-165S-D Block Configuration: 28 mm (1.1") diameter with a depth of 150 mm (5.9").
• TCL-M255S-B Block Configuration: 60 mm (2.36") diameter with a depth of 170 mm (6.69"). This model uses silicone oil as the wetted material.
• Display Features: Both models feature a 2-line, 4-digit display in red/green that is switchable between °C/°F.

Power Supply Options

• TCL-165S-D: Operates on 100 to 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz with a power consumption of 400 VA.
• TCL-M255S-B: Requires 115 Vac, ± 10% (with 230 Vac optional).

Accessories and Inclusions

The TCL-165S-D is supplied complete with a Certificate of Calibration (C of C), power cable, insertion tool, and operator's manual. An available accessory for the series includes:

• TCL-S-DB28150-E: Adaptor sleeve featuring 7 bores: one 1/8", two 3/16", two ¼", and two 3/8" diameter holes.

The TCL-Series differentiates between dry block and liquid bath technologies. The TCL-165S-D is a hot/cold unit capable of sub-zero temperatures down to -35°C (-31°F) using an air-based medium within a 28 mm (1.1") diameter block. In contrast, the TCL-M255S-B operates from ambient temperature up to 255°C (491°F), utilizing a larger 60 mm (2.36") diameter vessel filled with silicone oil for immersion applications.
