Supported Applications
The FL-W7100 Series direct-reading analog display flowmeters are built for straightforward, at-a-glance monitoring of liquid and gas flow across industrial and process lines. Each meter uses a proven variable-area design, pairing a float with a tapered metering tube so that flow rate can be read directly from a dual-reading scale calibrated in both engineering units and percent. Because the indicator is magnetically coupled to the float and the float extensions are non-protruding, the display stays clean and easy to interpret without penetrating the flow path.
These in-line meters are well suited to water service and are also usable on air and other fluids, with the user responsible for confirming meter suitability for a given medium. Gas service is supported through a pressure-correction multiplier. Typical applications include water treatment lines, cooling and process water loops, and air or utility fluid metering wherever a rugged, direct-reading indication is preferred over powered instrumentation.
Installation is vertical only, with the inlet at the bottom and the outlet at the top. The design requires no upstream or downstream straight-pipe runs, although 4" of straight pipe must be provided at the outlet because the guide rod extends from the top of the meter during operation. The unit comes complete with an operator's manual.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FL-W7100 Series delivers ±3% FS accuracy and presents the reading on a 120 mm (4.7") dual-reading scale, so both rate and percent of full scale are visible at once. The indicator housing carries a NEMA 4 (IP65) rating for protection in demanding plant environments, and the series is RoHS compliant and backed by a 1 year warranty.
Stainless steel models are rated for process temperatures up to 199°C (350°F) and pressures up to 1500 psi, while PVC models follow the published pressure/temperature curve. The maximum ambient temperature for the indicator housing is 158°F. For meters equipped with O-ring seals, the maximum service temperature depends on the elastomer selected:
- EPR: 225°F
- Buna-N: 275°F
- Viton: 350°F
- Zalak: 400°F
- Kalrez: 400°F
Zero is factory set when the meter is calibrated; the nuts fastening the indicator housing to the meter body should not be loosened, since moving the housing disturbs the calibration. A NIST certificate is not available for this series.
Configuration Options
The lineup spans two wetted-material constructions and four connection sizes so the meter can be matched to both the fluid and the flow rate. Stainless steel models use all 316 SS (or type 1, grade 1 SS) with Hastelloy C internals, giving broad chemical resistance and the full 199°C (350°F) / 1500 psi envelope. PVC models are available for lower-pressure, lower-temperature service and are ordered by adding the -P suffix at additional cost.
Flow capacity scales with the body size and connection. Half-inch (½ FNPT) meters cover the smaller end of the range, one-inch (1 FNPT) meters step up the capacity, and the larger 1½ and 2 FNPT bodies handle the highest flows, up to 152 GPM on water. Overall widths grow with connection size, from 130 mm W (5.125") at ½ FNPT to 133 mm W (5.25") at 1 FNPT, 143 mm W (5.625") at 1½ FNPT and 171 mm W (6.75") at 2 FNPT, while display height is 127 mm H (5"). All models share the powder-coated aluminum indicator housing and FKM O-ring seal.
Key Product Differences
The series covers water flow from 3.0 GPH to 152 GPM through fifteen individually calibrated models. Each is ordered by its base model number, FNPT connection size, tube length in mm (inch), and maximum flow. Add the -P suffix to specify a PVC construction in place of stainless steel.
- FL-W7106 — ½ FNPT, 279.4 (11) mm, 33.0 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7108 — ½ FNPT, 279.4 (11) mm, 1.1 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7110 — ½ FNPT, 279.4 (11) mm, 2.0 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7112 — ½ FNPT, 279.4 (11) mm, 4.0 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7114 — ½ FNPT, 279.4 (11) mm, 6.0 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7116 — 1 FNPT, 336.55 (13.25) mm, 5.0 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7118 — 1 FNPT, 336.55 (13.25) mm, 10.0 GPM maximum flow
- FL-W7120 — 1 FNPT, 336.55 (13.25) mm, 16.5 GPM maximum flow

- FL-W7132 — 2 FNPT, 352.425 (13.875) mm, 120.0 GPM maximum flow
The full range also includes FL-W7134 at the top of the model sequence. PVC availability applies across the family through the -P ordering suffix.
