Supported Applications

The Omega FLD1000/FLD2000 Series comprises direct read variable area flow meters designed for medium flow range measurements. These rugged PTFE and metal body units incorporate traditional precision glass technology to provide accurate monitoring of air and water flows. The series features unique rotatable scales with dual direct reading graduations, displaying SCFM and SLPM (air) as well as GPM and LPM (water). Each unit is individually tested on a Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector and certified to a leak integrity rating of 1 x 10-7 SCCS Helium or better.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers an accuracy class of +5% of full scale. Measurement ranges span from Air: 3.5 SCFM to 30 SCFM (or 100 SLPM to 900 SLPM) and Water: 0.8 GPM to 5 GPM (or 3 LPM to 20 LPM), depending on the specific model configuration.

Operating temperature limits vary by construction material:

• Metal Body (316 SS or brass): Maximum process temperature of 65°C (150°F).
• PTFE Body: Maximum process temperature of 121°C (250°F) and ambient operating temperature up to 93°C (200°F).

Pressure ratings are defined as Metal Body: 10.3 bar (150 psig) @ 93°C (200°F), and PTFE Body: 6.7 bar (100 psig) @ ambient temperature.

Configuration Options

The FLD series supports multiple mounting configurations, materials of construction, and flow ranges to accommodate specific installation needs:

• Mounting Styles: Vertical In-Line (FLD1000/FLD1200 Series) or Panel Mount with horizontal rear connection (FLD2000/FLD2100/FLD2200 Series).
• Housing Materials: 316 Stainless Steel, Brass, and PTFE.
• Wetted Parts & Floats: Wetted parts include PTFE, brass, or 316 SS. Float materials are PTFE for PTFE units and 316 SS for stainless steel and brass units.
• Seals: PTFE seals; FKM seals for 316 SS and brass units.
• Tubes & Shields: Heavy walled precision formed borosilicate glass flow tubes with polycarbonate tube shields.
• Scales: Rotatable, direct reading air (SCFM-SLPM) and water (GPM-LPM). Scale length is 127 mm (5") nominal.

Variants Capabilities: Connections & Options

• Process Connection: 3/8-18 FNPT female in line or horizontal rear.
• Valve Option: Models are available with a valve (standard) or without a valve (-NV suffix).
• Oxygen Cleaning: For oxygen cleaning, add “-O2CLEAN” to the model number for additional cost.

Key Product Differences

The series is organized by mounting style and material of construction. The FLD1000/FLD2000 Series includes Stainless Steel (316 SS) models, Brass models, and PTFE models.

• Vertical In-Line: Designated as the FLD1000 series for stainless steel with valve, FLD1100 for brass with valve, and FLD1200 for PTFE. Each material family offers variants without a valve (e.g., -NV suffix).
• Panel Mount: Designated as the FLD2000 series for stainless steel with valve, FLD2100 for brass with valve, and FLD2200 for PTFE. Each material family offers variants without a valve (e.g., -NV suffix).

Model numbers follow the pattern FLD<series><model_number>. For example, FLD1001 is a vertical in-line stainless steel unit with a valve, while FLD2206 is a panel mount PTFE unit without a valve. Flow ranges differ by model number within each material family; for instance, the Stainless Steel series (FLD1xxx/FLD2xxx) covers Air 5 to 30 SCFM and Water 1.2 to 5 GPM, whereas the PTFE series (FLD12xx/FLD22xx) covers Air 3.5 to 22 SCFM and Water 0.8 to 4.1 GPM.
