Supported Applications

The Omega CCT Series comprises economical DIN rail signal conditioners designed to accept a broad range of input signals including ac and dc voltage, ac and dc current, frequency, temperature (thermocouple and RTD), potentiometer, resistance, and strain gage. These units provide standard process outputs for integration into control systems.

Documented measurement types include:

  • Voltage (ac/dc)
  • Current (ac/dc)
  • Frequency
  • Thermocouple (J, K, T, E, R, S)
  • RTD (Pt100)
  • Potentiometer
  • Resistance
  • Strain Gage

The series includes integrator modules that convert voltage or current to frequency. A loop-powered galvanic isolator is also available within the family.

Operating Conditions & Performance

CCT Series units operate in ambient temperatures from -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F) and can be stored between -30 to 80°C (-22 to 176°F). The temperature coefficient is ≤0.015%/°C, with a response time of ≤250 ms.

Accuracy varies by model at ≤0.2% or ≤0.3%. Internal modules (signal input, signal output, and power supply) are isolated up to 2 kVeff. The enclosure provides IP40 protection; the terminal housing offers IP20 protection. Power consumption is a maximum of 1.5 VA.

Input ranges span from low-level signals such as 0 to 100 mV and 0 to 5 mA dc up to high-voltage inputs including 0 to 650 V ac/dc. Frequency input models cover ranges starting at 0 Hz with maximums extending to 40 kHz, depending on the specific model configuration.

Input Range Examples

  • Voltage: 0 to 100 mV through 0 to 650 V (ac/dc)
  • Current: 0 to 5 mA dc, 0 to 50 mA ac/dc, and 0 to 5 A ac
  • Frequency: Ranges from 0 to 40 Hz up to 0 to 40 kHz in stepped intervals (e.g., 0/70, 12.5K/22.5K)
  • Thermocouple: Specific ranges include 0 to 800°C for Type E and 600 to 1600°C for Type S
  • RTD (Pt100): Ranges from 0 to 100°C through 0 to 600°C
  • Potentiometer: Variable input with standard output scaling
  • Resistance: 0 to 200 Ω, 0 to 2K Ω, 0 to 20 kΩ, and 0 to 200 kΩ

Output Signals

All models provide standard process outputs of:

  • 0/4 to 20 mA (current)
  • 0 to 10 Vdc (voltage)

Note: For CCT-08 ac voltage input, the signal frequency range is 20 Hz to 6KHz. The output signal for frequency inputs below 10 Hz is non-linear.

Configuration Options

The series utilizes a plug-in three-module system allowing flexibility in selecting power supply, input signal type, and output configuration. Units mount on standard 35 mm DIN rails (DIN rail 46277 and EN 50022). Input and output connections are located on opposite sides for safe wiring via screw terminals.

Power Supply Options

Standard units are supplied with 110 Vac power. Optional configurations include:

  • 220 Vac (add “-220VAC” to model number)
  • 24 Vdc (add “-24VDC” to model number; additional cost applies for this option)

The excitation voltage is 24 V dc @ 25 mA, supplied by the converter.

Housing and Materials

  • Enclosure: Polycarbonate, RAL 7032; UL 94 V-1 rated
  • Terminal Housing: Polycarbonate, UL 94-2 rated
  • Dimensions: 75 H x 45 W x 110 mm D (2.95" x 1.77" x 110 mm D)
  • Weight: 270 g (0.6 lb)

Special Models and Accessories

The series includes specific models for specialized inputs:

  • CCT-80 strain gage transmitter
  • CCT-100 loop-powered galvanic isolator (2 kVeff isolation)
  • FAR power supplies as options/accessories

Model numbers follow the format CCT-<INPUT_TYPE>-<RANGE>. For example, CCT-01 denotes dc voltage input, while CCT-08 indicates ac voltage input. Thermocouple models are designated by type (e.g., CCT-22 for Type J, CCT-23 for Type K).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by input signal type and range code.

  • CCT-01 / CCT-08: DC Voltage (CCT-01) vs. AC Voltage (CCT-08). Both support ranges from 0 to 100 mV up to 0 to 650 V.
  • CCT-04 / CCT-32: AC Current input (CCT-04, e.g., 0/5A) vs. DC Current input (CCT-32, e.g., 0/5MA).
  • CCT-05: Frequency inputs with specific min/max range pairs such as 40/70 Hz or 12.5K/22.5 kHz.
  • CCT-20 through CCT-27: Temperature sensors differentiated by element type (RTD Pt100 for CCT-20; Thermocouples J, K, T, E, S, R for models 22–27) and specific temperature ranges.
  • CCT-90 / CCT-95: Potentiometer input (CCT-90) vs. Resistance input with defined ohmic ranges up to 200 kΩ (CCT-95).

Specific range availability is model-dependent; for instance, CCT-25 is only available with the 0 to 800°C range, and CCT-26 is restricted to the 600 to 1600°C range. Maximum wire size supported is 4 mm² (14 AWG).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from turns Pt thermometer into 0-10V signal The low level output of a Pt thermometer will result in a staircase graph when used with an analog to digital converter with low resolution. Amplifying the output smooth's the graph, and increases the resolution very nicely.

I am currently looking for a AC voltage signal conditioner, can this product be programmed to detect 0 to 11.34 Hz?

Asked by: AJM7
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it cannot. Frequency range is 20 hz-6 hz.
