Supported Applications

The Omega DRSL-RTD Series consists of DIN rail signal conditioners designed to interface RTD inputs with SCADA systems or PLC equipment. The series converts signals from 2, 3, or 4-wire Pt100 RTDs into unipolar analog outputs suitable for industrial control environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The DRSL-RTD Series operates over an ambient temperature range of -25 to 70°C (-13 to 158°F) with a storage capability from -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). The units support relative humidity levels of 0 to 95% RH non-condensing and carry an IP20 protection degree. Measurement ranges span -200 to 850°C (-328 to 1562°F) with a sensor current below 150 μA.

Accuracy specifications differ by model: the DRSL-RTD offers better than 0.2°C or ±0.1% of selected input range, while the isolated DRSL-RTD-ISO provides better than 0.1°C or ±0.05% of selected input range. Response time is selectable at <30 ms/300 ms (0 to 90%, 100 to 10%). The series includes broken sensor detection (>800 Ω) and shorted sensor detection (<18 Ω).

Configuration Options

The series supports configuration via DIP-switches for more than 1,000 factory-calibrated measurement ranges. Output signals are programmable to match specific system requirements.

  • Output Signals: Current outputs include 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA; voltage outputs include 0 to 10 V, 2 to 10 V, 0 to 5 V, and 1 to 5 V.
  • Power Supply: DRSL-RTD models accept 16.8 to 31.2 Vdc via connectors; DRSL-RTD-ISO models accept 16.8 to 31.2 Vdc via power rail or connectors.
  • Isolation (DRSL-RTD-ISO Only): Provides 3-way isolation between input, output, and supply with a test voltage of 2.5 kVac (reinforced) and working voltage of 300 Vac.
  • Error Detection: Sensor error detection is selectable via DIP-switch for enable or none; incorrect DIP-switch settings trigger specific out-of-range outputs.

Mechanical installation features DIN EN 60715 - 35 mm rail mounting with screw terminals accepting wire sizes from 0.13 x 2.5 mm² / AWG 26 to 12 stranded wire (torque: 0.5 Nm). The unit dimensions are 113 H x 6.1 W x 115 mm D (4.4 x 0.24 x 4.5") with an approximate weight of 70 g (0.15 lb).

Key Product Differences

The series is available in two primary configurations:

  • DRSL-RTD: Non-isolated RTD input DIN rail signal conditioner.
  • DRSL-RTD-ISO: Isolated RTD input DIN rail signal conditioner offering surge suppression and protection against transients and noise. This model requires the DRSL-PWR-RAIL power rail for operation when using the rail interface.

Accessories available for the series include the DRSL-PWR-RAIL (1 m length, with cover and end covers), DRSL-PCU (power connector unit, 24 Vdc/2.5 A output), and DRSL-MOD-STOP (module stop). The OMEGACARE™ extended warranty program is available for these models.

I have 4 of these and only one is working all are setup identically. However I'm only recieving 3.45mA on the output and even on the one that is working there is no LED light on to be found
