Supported Applications

The Omega LCCA Series consists of high accuracy 'S' Beam load cells designed for tension and compression applications. The series is engineered to be environmentally protected, making it suitable for washdown environments where corrosion resistance is required.

Operating Conditions & Performance

LCCA load cells operate within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 150°F. Thermal effects are specified as Zero: 0.0015% FS/°F and Span: 0.0008% RDG/°F. The series delivers a rated output signal of 3mV/V (±0.0075mV/V actual output supplied with each load cell) with an excitation voltage requirement of 10 Vdc, up to a maximum of 15 Vdc.

Performance specifications include:

  • Accuracy Class: 0.037% Full Scale
  • Hysteresis: 0.02% FS
  • Repeatability: 0.01% FS
  • Interchangeability: 0.25%
  • Load Resistance: 350 Ω nominal

Safety limits are defined as a Safe Maximum Load of 150% and an Ultimate Maximum Load of 300%. Each unit is supplied with a calibration certificate.

Configuration Options

The LCCA series covers measurement ranges from 0-25 lb to 0-20,000 lb. The housing material is Nickel Plated Carbon Steel. Electrical connection is provided via a cable sealing gland with a 6 m (20') 4-conductor shielded 22-gage wire.

Process connections utilize 'A' threads on both ends, varying by capacity:

  • 25-200 lb capacities: ¼-28 thread
  • 250 lb capacity: ⅜-24 thread
  • 500-750 lb and 1,000-2,000 lb capacities: ½-20 thread
  • 3,000 lb capacity: ¼-20 thread
  • 5,000 and 10,000 lb capacities: ⅜-16 thread
  • 15,000 lb capacity: 1-14 thread
  • 20,000 lb capacity: 1¼-12 thread

The series supports NIST traceability. Compatible meters include models such as the DP3002-S, DP460-S, DP25-S, DP41-S, and DP87 depending on the specific capacity.

Key Product Differences

LCCA model numbers follow the format LCCA-<CAPACITY>, where CAPACITY denotes the rated load in pounds (e.g., LCCA-1K is a 1,000 lb capacity). Physical dimensions vary by capacity range:

  • 25–200 lb models: Overall length E of 2.50 inches; weight approximately 2 lb.
  • 250 lb model: Overall length E of 3.00 inches; weight approximately 2 lb.
  • 500–750 lb models: Overall length E of 3.00 inches; weight approximately 2 lb.
  • 1,000–2,000 lb models: Overall length E of 3.00 inches depending on specific capacity; weights range from 2 to 3 lb.
  • Higher capacities (3K–20K): Dimensions increase with load rating, reaching an overall length E of 7.00 inches for the 20,000 lb model and a weight of 13 lb.

The series offers specific compatible accessories including Load Button models (e.g., LBC-014, LBC-038) and Rod End models (e.g., REC-014M, REC-114M) matched to the load cell capacity.

What you mean with the .25% Interchangeable?

Asked by: Ernesto Medina
The 0.25% interchangeability spec refers to the full-scale output of the load cell. The S load cells have a nominal output spec of 3 mV/V (3 millivolts per volt of excitation) but every load cell will have some variation from the nominal value. In this case the output will always be within the range of 3 mV/V +/- 0.25% or between 2.9925 and 3.0075. The actual full-scale output will be provided on the calibration sheet that comes with each load cell. Thank you and please contact us again if you have any other questions.

How often do the load cells need to be calibrated?

Asked by: RKlem
Thank you for your inquire. We say 12 months after installation. Depending on usage and cycles Less usage longer between calibrations normally.
