Supported Applications

The Omega MT-1 Series immersion heater is designed for clean water applications. The series features a copper sheath and a 1¼ NPT brass screw plug fitting, intended to be used with an approved temperature control device to assure safe operation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The MT-1 Series operates on 1-phase power at either 120V or 240V. The heating element sheath is constructed of copper with a diameter of 0.8 mm (0.315"). Power ratings range from 0.6 kW to 2 kW, utilizing one or two heating elements depending on the model configuration.

Surface watt densities vary by power rating and element count:

• 0.6 kW models: 53 W/in²
• 0.75 kW models: 65 W/in²
• 1 kW single-element models: 86 W/in²; 1 kW dual-element models: 43 W/in²
• 1.2 kW models: 53 W/in²
• 1.5 kW models: 65 W/in²
• 2 kW models: 86 W/in²

Configuration Options

The series is available with two distinct terminal enclosure options to suit different environmental requirements:

• E1 General Purpose Enclosure: NEMA 1 (IP00) rated. These models are UL Listed and CSA Certified.
• E2 Explosion-Resistant/Moisture-Resistant Enclosure: Designed for rugged environments, these enclosures are CSA NRTL/C certified. Note that E2 heaters are not intended for use in hazardous areas.

All models feature a 3/4 NPT conduit electrical connection. The overall dimension B is consistent across the series at 16 cm (6¼ in). Model numbers follow the format MT-, where voltage must be designated as "120" or "240".

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ by power output, number of heating elements, and enclosure type. The ordering table lists specific configurations:

• Power Ratings: 0.6 kW (MT-160), 0.75 kW (MT-175), 1 kW (MT-110), 1.2 kW (MT-112), 1.5 kW (MT-115), and 2 kW (MT-120).
• Element Configuration: Models rated at 0.6, 0.75, and 1 kW are available with a single heating element. The 1 kW dual-element variant is designated as MT-110-3A or MT-110-3E2.
• Voltage Options: Each power rating and enclosure combination supports both 120V and 240V inputs, indicated by the suffix in the model number (e.g., /120V or /240V).
