Supported Applications

The Omega LC601/LCM601 Series comprises extremely low-capacity industrial load cells designed for tension and compression measurement. These constant moment beam sensors feature built-in overload stops in all four directions to enhance durability. The series is intended for use in small scales and general industrial weighing applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LC601/LCM601 load cells operate within an ambient temperature range of -34 to 82°C (-30 to 180°F), with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Performance specifications include linearity, hysteresis, and accuracy values of ±0.03% FSO, repeatability of ±0.02% FSO, and zero balance of ±1% FSO. Thermal effects are rated at ±0.0025% FSO/°F for Zero and ±0.0010% FSO/°F for Span.

Electrical performance is defined by an excitation voltage of 10 Vdc (15V maximum), with a nominal output signal of 2 mV/V ±0.25%. Input resistance is specified at 360 Ω minimum, and output resistance is 350 ±10 Ω. The series supports safe overload up to 150% of rated capacity and ultimate overload protection up to 300% of capacity.

Configuration Options

The LC601/LCM601 Series is available in two model families distinguished by process connection standards: the LC601 with an 8-32 UNC, TAP THRU thread and the LCM601 with an M5 x 0.8 - 6H THRU thread. Both variants are constructed from stainless steel housing material.

Available capacities span a range of:

  • LC601 (Imperial): 0-1 lb to 0-25 lb
  • LCM601 (Metric): 0-0.4 kgf to 0-11 kgf

Each unit includes a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor shielded color-coded cable for electrical connection and comes complete with 5-point NIST-traceable calibration data along with 59 kΩ shunt data.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the two model families is the process thread type. The LC601 models utilize an 8-32 UNC, TAP THRU connection, while LCM601 models feature an M5 x 0.8 - 6H THRU connection.

Model numbering follows a specific pattern where the suffix indicates capacity: for example, LC601-5 denotes a 5 lb capacity load cell, and LCM601-5 denotes a 5 kgf capacity load cell. The series offers discrete capacities including 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, and 25 lb (LC601) or corresponding metric equivalents up to 11 kgf (LCM601). Compatible meters listed for these sensors include the DPiS, DP41-S, and DP25B-S; note that the DPiS meter is suitable for one direction measurement only.
