Supported Applications

The Omega CDCE-90-X Series Conductivity Cells are designed for in-line and submersible installations to measure the electrical conductivity of liquids. These sensors serve as process probes compatible with CDCN-91, CDTX-90, and CDCN-5800 series instruments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series covers a broad measurement envelope defined by specific cell constants and ranges:

  • Cell Constant 0.01: Range of 0.01 to 100 µS (10 kΩ to 100 MΩ)
  • Cell Constant 0.10: Range of 1 to 1,000 µS
  • Cell Constant 1.0: Range of 10 to 10,000 µS
  • Cell Constant 10.0: Range of 100 to 200,000 µS
  • Cell Constant 20.0: Range of 200 to 400,000 µS

All models include PT1000 temperature compensation. Maximum operating temperatures vary by model and fitting configuration: standard fittings support up to 95 °C (203 °F) or 100 °C (212 °F), while specific configurations reach 120 °C (248 °F) or 150 °C (302 °F). Pressure ratings are listed as 6.9 bar (100 psi) for standard fittings and up to 13.8 bar (200 psi) with optional high-pressure fittings.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable wetted materials, process connections, and housing styles to accommodate different installation requirements:

  • Electrodes & Fittings: 316 stainless steel or titanium (available on CDCE-90S sanitary models).
  • Insulator Materials: PTFE, CPVC, or PEEK® depending on the cell constant and temperature rating.
  • O-Rings: EPR.
  • Housing Material: Polypropylene (standard) or 316 stainless steel (optional fitting).
  • Process Connections:
    • NPT: ¼ in., ½ in., ¾ in., 1 in., 1½ in., and 2 in.
    • Sanitary: 1.5" Tri-Grip™ sanitary and 2.0" Tri-Grip™ sanitary fittings (CDCE-90S series).
  • Cable: Standard length is 4.6 m (15'). Extensions up to 30 m (100 ft) are supported using three-conductor shielded cable; adding "-100" to the model number provides an extended cable option.

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into two primary families based on fitting style and application:

  • CDCE-90 Series (In-Line/Submersible): Models such as CDCE-90-001, CDCE-90-01, CDCE-90-1, CDCE-90-10, and CDCE-90-20 feature NPT fittings. The CDCE-90-10 utilizes a CPVC insulator with a maximum temperature of 95 °C (203 °F), while the CDCE-90-20 uses PEEK® insulation for temperatures up to 150 °C (302 °F).
  • CDCE-90S Series (Sanitary): Models such as CDCE-90S-001-S15 and CDCE-90S-001-T15 feature Tri-Grip™ sanitary fittings in 1.5" or 2.0" sizes. These models offer electrode options of either 316 stainless steel (suffix S) or titanium (suffix T).

Item# CDCE-90-001: 1. How long is the cable and if i need a BNC termination at two feet is this available?

Asked by: MrFix567
Thank you for your inquiry on the conductivity probe. The standard length is 15 feet and has stripped leads or wires on the end and unfortunately, there is no BNC connection available, only the leads.
