Supported Applications
The Dwyer Model TFLS2 Compact Tuning Fork Level Switch is designed for level control of dry powders and liquids. The series detects bulk materials submerged in liquid, provided they are compatible with the wetted materials. It serves applications where low dielectric constant materials or varying moisture content make capacitance switches less effective, as well as scenarios involving low-density bulk solids that may not trigger rotating paddle switches.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TFLS2 operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C) and a process temperature limit of -40 to 266°F (-40 to 130°C). The unit is rated for pressures up to 600 psi (40 bar) with an IP65 enclosure rating. Sensitivity specifications include a minimum bulk solid density of 4.4 lb/ft³ (70 g/l) and a maximum particle size of 0.4 in (10 mm). The sensing delay is adjustable between 0 to 6 seconds.
Configuration Options
The series features a compact design with an overall length of 4-9/64 [105.00] and includes internal green and red LED indication lights. Key configurable or fixed capabilities include:
- Sensing Technology: Piezoelectric crystal vibration detection that is immune to external vibrations from conveying systems, motors, or material movement.
- Switch Output: SPDT relay contacts with a user-selectable fail-safe operation (MAX/NC or Min/NO modes).
- Electrical Ratings: Power requirement of 20 to 250 VAC, 50/60 Hz; power consumption is 10 VA. The electrical rating supports 5 A @ 250 VAC.
