Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series 1800 is a low differential pressure switch designed for general industrial service. The series monitors air and non-combustible, compatible gases to provide switching action based on set point adjustments accessible from the opposite side of a wall or panel mounting.

Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series 1800 offers ±2% repeatability across nine distinct operating ranges, spanning from 0.07 to 0.22 in w.c. up to 9 to 85 in w.c. The approximate dead band varies by model and set point; for example, the 1823-00 range (0.07 to 0.22 in w.c.) lists a 0.05 in w.c. dead band at both minimum and maximum set points, while the 1823-80 range (9 to 85 in w.c.) ranges from 1.30 to 3.0 in w.c.
- Temperature Limits: -30 to 180°F (-34 to 82°C) for most models; the 1823-00 model specifies -20 to 180°F (-28.9 to 82.2°C).
- Pressure Limits: 10 psig (68.95 kPa) continuous, 25 psig (172.4 kPa) surge.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple configuration options to address specific installation environments and electrical requirements. Standard models include a conduit connection, while other variants are available without conduit or with specialized housings.
Housing and Environmental Options
- Standard: Includes 1/8" female NPT process connections on high and low pressure sides; mounting spud is 1/2 MALE NPT. Weight is approximately 1 lb, 5 oz (595 g).
- Weatherproof Enclosure (-WP): A 16 ga. steel enclosure for unusually wet or oily conditions that withstands a 200-hour salt spray test with a gasketed cover.
- Explosion-Proof Housing (-EXPL): Cast iron base and aluminum dome cover rated Class I, Groups C & D, Div. 1; Class II, Groups E, F, & G, Div. 1. Note: The optional -EXPL explosion-proof enclosure does not possess any agency approvals.
- Environmental (MIL) Switch (-MIL): Unlisted Model 1820 furnished with a special snap switch sealed against the environment for high humidity and/or government applications; dead band is slightly greater than standard models.
Electrical and Component Options
- Switch Type: Single-pole double-throw (SPDT) with 15 A @ 120-480 VAC, 60 Hz resistive rating. De-rate to 10 A for operation at high cycle rates.
- Elastomers: Buna-N (-B), Silicone free (-SF).
- Contacts/Tags: Gold contact switch (-GOLD), Aluminum tag (-AT), Stainless steel tag (-ST).
- Reset and Adjustment: Manual reset (-MR), Preset (-PRESET), B-gap micro switch (-BGAP).
Key Product Differences
The series includes distinct model families based on conduit availability. Model 1823 is the pressure switch with a conduit connection, while Model 1824 represents the pressure switch without a conduit. The unlisted Model 1820 serves as an alternative for specific environmental needs when specified with 'MIL'. All models utilize screw-type set point adjustment inside the mounting spud and require vertical diaphragm positioning unless other orientations are confirmed by consulting the factory.
