Supported Applications

The Omega FCH-FGC0 Series consists of compact fan heaters designed for climate control in enclosed spaces. The heating element is a PTC heater, and the units are available in nominal power ratings of 10W, 20W, or 40W at 10°C. Electrical protection classes vary by model: Class III/SELV for lower voltage configurations and Class I for higher voltage models.

Performance specifications include a fan volumetric flow of 5.1 m³/Hour (for applicable variants) with an L10 lifetime of 120 hours at 40°C. In-rush current values depend on the power rating and input voltage; typical maximum in-rush currents range from 1.3 A RMS to 9.5 A RMS depending on whether the supply is 12 Vac, 24 Vac, or 115/230 Vac.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable power ratings and voltage inputs tailored for specific installation needs. Key selection parameters include:

  • Nominal Power at 10°C: Available in 10W, 20W, or 40W.
  • Heater Input Voltage: Options include 12 DC, 12 AC, 24 AC/DC, and 115/230 Vac (for the 40W variant).
  • Fan Input Voltage: Configurable for 12 Vdc or 24 Vac/dc.
  • Housing Dimensions: Cross section is fixed at 26 x 27 mm (1 x 1.1 in). Overall length varies by power rating: 50 mm (2 in) for the 10W model and 72 mm (2.8 in) for the 40W models.
  • Weight: Ranges from 60 g (2.1 oz) to 90 g (3.2 oz).

All units are pre-wired with a 600 mm (24") lead featuring a DIN connector and an outlet finger guard. The heater can be controlled independently of the fan, allowing for a 'fan-only' mode to provide air circulation without heating.

Key Product Differences

The FCH-FGC0 series is distinguished by specific model numbers that define power output and voltage compatibility:

  • FCH-FGC00042R: 10W heater, 12V input, with a 12 Vdc fan.
  • FCH-FGC00052R & FCH-FGC00182R: Both provide 20W output. The former uses a 12V heater and 12 Vdc fan; the latter utilizes a 24V heater with a 24 Vac/dc fan.
  • FCH-FGC05032R, FCH-FGC05242R & FCH-FGC05272R: These models deliver 40W output. They differ in heater voltage: 12V (FCH-FGC05032R), 24V (FCH-FGC05242R), and 115/230V (FCH-FGC05272R). All three variants operate with a 24 Vac/dc fan.

Approvals for the series include CE, UL, RoHS, and a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. The product comes complete with an operator's manual.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Omega 15W space heater temperature regulated. The heater is best combined with an inline Thermostate for a frost protection. The heater us well built and small so it is easy to find space for installation. Improvement suggestions. Note airflow direction on heater and provide better mounting options. There is a spring clamp on bottom but I could not figure out how to use it. Also there were no instructions on this metal clamp. I still very much recommend this little heater.

How much heat does this produce? BTU?

The power rating for this heater is 40 watts. This would convert to 136.5 BTUs Per Hour.

Can I use this as a car heater

We would like to keep 3 x 12litre water jugs from freezing in a <10cuft cupboard in a van during winter and shoulder season.  Would prefer something with a thermostat.  Would this product be suitable?  Would you recommend something different?

hello, i'm looking for a thermostat to control this heater. it is for a small enclosure with several 12v batteries (which i will use to directly power the heater). would this product be compatible with KT011409?
