Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series SSV-B consists of compact, general-service, two-way guide type solenoid valves designed for air, gas, water, and other liquid applications. These normally open (NO) valves are engineered to operate in any mounting orientation, with a recommendation that the solenoid be positioned vertically above the valve body when possible.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series SSV-B is rated for process temperatures up to 176°F (80°C) and ambient operating conditions from 32 to 149°F (0 to 65°C). The valves feature a pressure limit of 174 psi (12 bar), with specific operating ranges dependent on connection size: models with 1/8" to 1/4" connections operate from 0 psi (0 bar) to 87 psi (6 bar), while sizes from 3/8" to 2" are rated for 7.3 psi (0.5 bar) to 116 psi (8 bar). The solenoid enclosure provides a NEMA 13 (IP54) rating, protecting against dust and the seepage of oil and non-corrosive coolants.
Configuration Options
The series offers a broad selection of configurations to accommodate various flow requirements and installation constraints. Key configurable parameters include:
- Connection Sizes: Female NPT connections ranging from 1/8" to 2".
- Orifice Dimensions: Flow orifices available in sizes from 0.12 [3] inches (mm) up to 1.97 [50] inches (mm).
- Cv Values: Flow coefficients range from 0.25 for smaller models to 48 for the largest size.
- Voltage Options: Standard power supply is 110 VAC; optional voltages include 220 VAC and 24 VDC (consult factory).
- Electrical Interface: DIN connection terminals are provided for electrical hookup.
The valves utilize brass bodies with 304 SS springs and NBR seals. For applications requiring different materials, the broader Series SSV family includes stainless steel (SSV-S) variants with Fluoroelastomer seals and a higher process temperature rating of 248°F (120°C).
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within this bundle is between the brass-bodied Series SSV-B described here and the stainless steel Series SSV-S referenced in family documentation. The SSV-B models are identified by model numbers such as SSV-B1N1 through SSV-B9N4, where the numeric suffix indicates connection size and voltage configuration. While the series supports female BSPP end connections (indicated by adding -BSPP to the model number), standard catalog variants feature Female NPT ends.
Power consumption varies by frequency and duty cycle; for 110 VAC at 60 Hz, inrush is 82 VA with a holding value of 28 VA. The physical dimensions scale with valve size, ranging from an overall length (L) of 1-5/8 [41] inches to 6-1/2 [165] inches for the largest models.

Is the solenoid valve model # SBSV-B8N1 BR VL 1-1/2" 110VAC suitable for use in Diesel Fuel system for generators?
The SBSV is not suitable for these kinds of applications. Unfortunately, we do not offer a comparable solenoid valve that is.
