Supported Applications
The Series CMT Carbon Monoxide Transmitter by Dwyer is designed for the detection and transmission of gas concentrations. While primarily identified for carbon monoxide (CO) monitoring, the series supports configurable settings for multiple gases including Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂), Nitric Oxide (NO), Ammonia (NH₃), and Oxygen (O₂). The device features a 2-line by 8-character LCD display and is configured via an integrated keypad with password protection.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series CMT provides configurable measurement ranges based on the selected gas type. Default settings include:
- Carbon Monoxide (CO): 0 ppm to 125 ppm
- Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂): 0 ppm to 6.0 ppm
- Nitric Oxide (NO): 0 ppm to 100 ppm
- Ammonia (NH₃): 0 ppm to 50 ppm
- Oxygen (O₂): 0% to 25%
The transmitter outputs analog signals of either 4-20 milliamp or 2-10 VDC linear. Communication is supported via the Optomux protocol at a default baud rate of 4800 with a digital address of 0001. The microprocessor detects component faults and out-of-range conditions, dropping the output signal to 0.0 milliamps and deactivating relays when such events occur.
Configuration Options
The Series CMT offers configurable alarm functions through optional relay packages. Default configuration settings include:
- Relay Outputs: Optional Relay 1 (Warning) and Relay 2 (Alarm), each with associated LED indicators.
- Setpoints: Factory default setpoints vary by gas type; for CO, the Warning Setpoint is 25 ppm and the Alarm Setpoint is 50 ppm.
- Hysteresis/Delays: Default actuation delays are 0 Minutes for both Relay 1 and Relay 2.
Additional options include an optional battery, optional buzzer, and configurable password protection (default: 0017). Electrical connections utilize meter jacks labeled SigA, SigB, and Common. Voltage monitoring requires a monitor with at least 50,000 ohms input impedance.
Key Product Differences
The series includes specific model variations such as CMT-DN and CMT-DN-D. The device is calibrated using zero gas and span gas adjustments made via a potentiometer on the circuit board. While relay setpoints are included in the software, physical relays must be added via an optional package to enable alarm functions.
