Supported Applications

The Rotronic Series AC19XX comprises PT100 Class A temperature probes designed for industrial and pharmaceutical applications. According to the product overview, these sensors are suitable for storage monitoring of pharmaceuticals, production processes, drying operations, and incoming goods inspection.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series utilizes a Sensor PT100 Class A element with an accuracy class defined as -30...300 °C according to IEC751. The uncertainty for this range is specified as U = ± (0.15 + 0.0021 * |T|). For temperatures outside the Class A range, the uncertainty is listed as U = ± (0.30 + 0.005 * |T|).

Application ranges vary by model configuration:

• -50...300 °C
• -50...105 °C
• -100...250 °C
• -85...300 °C

Connector temperature limits are model-specific, with documented values of 105 °C for AC1900, AC1904, and AC1909; -40 °C for AC1916-A-T; and -20 °C for AC1920.

Configuration Options

The series features a 4 pin Binder Connector for electrical connection. Wetted materials include stainless steel AISI 316, stainless steel AISI 316L, and stainless steel AISI 316Ti depending on the specific model.

Probe dimensions vary across the family:

• AC1900 (Fixed probe): 100 mm x 3 mm; Material: stainless steel AISI 316.
• AC1904 (Cable probe, waterproof): 50 mm x 6 mm; Application range -50...105 °C.
• AC1909 (Fixed probe, air temperature): 100 mm x 4.5 mm; Material: stainless steel AISI 316.
• AC1916-A-T (Cable probe, waterproof high temperature): 60 mm x 6 mm; Application range -100...250 °C; Material: stainless steel AISI 316Ti.
• AC1920 (Cable probe): 375 mm x 3 mm; Application range -85...300 °C; Material: stainless steel AISI 316L.

The series supports several accessories, including the HC2-PT100-B4 Adapter for PT100 probes to HP32, HP23-A, HF5, HF8, PF4/5, HL-NT. Additional options include the AC1960-100 Screw in measuring sleeve (Thread ¼" G, insertion depth 100 mm) and extension cables: AC1607/05 (5 meters PT100, Temperature limit -40...85 °C) and AC1607/10 (10 meters PT100, Temperature limit -40...85 °C).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series-AC19XX differ primarily by probe geometry, insertion length, and material grade. The AC1900 is a fixed 3 mm diameter probe with an AISI 316 sheath. The AC1904 offers a waterproof cable design in a larger 6 mm profile for lower temperature ranges (-50...105 °C). For air temperature applications, the AC1909 provides a 4.5 mm fixed probe.

High-temperature and extended-range configurations include the AC1916-A-T (AISI 316Ti sheath) for ranges down to -100°C with waterproof capabilities, and the AC1920 (AISI 316L sheath) offering a longer 375 mm insertion length.
