Supported Applications

The Omega PCC connector series provides a means to attach thermocouple probes to printed circuit boards for OEM use. These miniature connectors facilitate the integration of temperature sensing into electronic assemblies, with specific configurations available for cold junction temperature measurements using TO-92 style transistors.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). The connector shell is constructed from glass-filled nylon. Pin construction utilizes alloys appropriate for Type J, K, T, N, and E thermocouples; the uncompensated "U" version incorporates Beryllium Copper alloy.

Configuration Options

The PCC series offers configurable mounting orientations, calibration types, pack sizes, and optional features to meet specific assembly requirements.

• Mounting Orientation: Horizontal (PCC-SMP) or Vertical (PCC-SMP-V).
• Calibration Types: Type J, K, T, E, N, and U. Specify "UCB" for Beryllium Copper alloy.
• Pack Sizes: Available in packs of 5, 50, or 100 units.
• Mating Connector: SMPW series.

Optional features include a transistor retainer clip and custom closed-end configurations. The optional transistor retainer clip accepts TO-92 style transistors for cold junction temperature measurements; add suffix "-R" to the model number (not available for vertical mount connectors). A custom "closed-end" connector is offered with the suffix "-CE".

Model Number Structure

The series follows the format PCC-SMP-(*)-<PACK_SIZE>-(**) or PCC-SMP-V-(*)-<PACK_SIZE>, where (*) denotes calibration type and (**) indicates optional features. Example: PCC-SMP-UCB-100-R.

Key Product Differences

Variants differ primarily by mounting orientation, thermocouple type compatibility, and the inclusion of accessory options:

• PCC-SMP (Horizontal): Standard regular mount configuration available with or without the transistor retainer clip (-R).
• PCC-SMP-V (Vertical): Vertical mount version for special applications; does not support the optional transistor retainer clip.
• Type U / UCB: Uncompensated versions using Beryllium Copper alloy are designated with "U" or specified as "UCB" in model numbers to ensure durability and reliability.
