Supported Applications
The Omega CIR Sleeve Adaptor series provides mechanical adapters for cartridge heaters, enabling specific heater diameters to fit larger drilled holes. The sleeve adaptors allow 0.95 cm (3/8") diameter heaters to fit into 1.3 cm (1/2") and 1.6 cm (5/8") holes, while the CHSA-3 model allows a 1.90 cm (3/4") heater to fit a 3.2 cm (1 1/4") hole. The series also includes OMEGALUX HTRC Heat Transfer and Release Coating for strip and ring heaters in grooves or clamped onto rough surfaces, designed to improve heat transfer and release.
Additionally, the SCB Series space heaters are included within this product family. These units fit standard lamp sockets with an Edison screw base and serve as unique space heating solutions available in various wattages from 50 to 200 Watts.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Sleeve adaptors (CHSA series) are constructed of pressed powder metal steel, designed for good heat transfer with a maximum work temperature of 427°C (800°F). For applications requiring higher temperatures than 427°C (800°F), the source notes to contact OMEGALUX. The HTRC coating supports a maximum use temperature of 982°C (1800°F) and has a shelf life greater than one year.
The SCB Series space heaters feature a brass sheath and operate on 120 or 240 Volts AC. Specific voltage models are designated by the suffix; for example, model numbers containing /120 are available only in that voltage. The series offers power ratings of 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200 Watts.
Key Performance Limits
- Sleeve Adaptor Max Work Temperature: 427°C (800°F)
- HTRC Coating Max Use Temperature: 982°C (1800°F)
- SCB Series Voltage Options: 120 Vac or 240 Vac
- SCB Series Wattage Range: 50 to 200 Watts
Configuration Options
The series encompasses three primary product configurations: sleeve adaptors for cartridge heaters, heat transfer coating, and space heaters. Selection is driven by the required heater diameter fitment or heating application.
Sleeve Adaptor Models (CHSA)
- Material: Steel (pressed powder metal)
- Length: 2.54 cm (1 in) for all models
- Model CHSA-1: I.D. 0.95 cm (3/8"); O.D. 0.4981"
- Model CHSA-2: I.D. 0.95 cm (3/8"); O.D. 0.6221"
- Model CHSA-3: I.D. 1.90 cm (3/4"); O.D. 1 1/4"
HTRC Coating and SCB Space Heaters
- HTRC Coating: Supplied in a 4 fl oz container; improves heat transfer for strip/ring heaters.
- SCB Series Dimensions: Overall length of 12.1 cm (4 3/4 in), diameter of 3.5 cm (1 3/8 in), and base length of 7.6 cm (3 in).
- SCB Weight: 0.1 kg (approx. 9 oz) per unit.
Key Product Differences
The CHSA sleeve adaptors vary by internal diameter and outer diameter to accommodate different cartridge heater sizes within specific hole dimensions. The SCB Series varies primarily by wattage output, with model numbers reflecting the power rating (e.g., SCB-50/120) and voltage requirement.
SCB Model Numbering
The SCB series uses a naming convention of SCB-<wattage>/<voltage>. Available wattages include 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200 Watts. Voltage must be specified as either "120" for 120 Vac or "240" for 240 Vac; models with the /120 designation are restricted to that voltage.
Ordering Codes
