Supported Applications
The Omega LVCN6000/7000 Series are capacitive RF point level switches designed for high and low level detection of liquids, solids, grains, pastes, granular materials, conductive media, non-conductive media, and low dielectric materials. The series operates without requiring a separate metal reference or installation in a metal vessel, making it suitable for use in plastic or concrete tanks. Detection occurs when the probe tip contacts the medium; however, these switches are not designed for use with high dielectrics such as mayonnaise or shampoo with high salt content.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of -10 to 80°C (14 to 176°F) and supports a maximum pressure rating of 145 psi (10 bar). The sensor utilizes a high-frequency oscillator operating at 5 MHz; when the tip contacts the medium, the oscillation frequency changes to trigger the switch. This design provides immunity to product build-up, temperature changes, and condensation.
Electrical specifications vary by series: LVCN6000 models operate on 85 to 240 Vac with a current consumption of 4 VA, while LVCN7000 models operate on 12 to 30 Vdc (specifically noted as 24 Vdc in ordering examples) with a current consumption of 2 VA. Both series provide an SPDT relay output rated at 5A maximum (250 Vac). The units feature NEMA 4 (IP65) enclosure protection and include an adjustable time delay from 1 to 20 seconds.

Configuration Options
The LVCN6000/7000 Series offers extensive configuration options for mounting, enclosure material, and probe construction to accommodate diverse installation requirements.Housing & Enclosure Options
- LVCN7000 (DC Power): Available in Nylon enclosures. Small nylon dimensions are 89 mm height x 64 mm width; large nylon housings measure 130mm x 118mm x 130mm.
- LVCN6000 (AC Power): Available in Aluminum enclosures. Small aluminum dimensions are listed as 76mm x 69mm x 80mm; large aluminum housings measure 130mm x 118mm x 130mm.
- PVC and PTFE: Enclosure materials include PVC or PTFE options for specific chemical environments.
Sensor & Probe Configurations
The series supports rigid stainless steel rods (316 SS) or cable extensions. Standard probe length is 121 mm (4.75") unless otherwise specified, with a maximum rigid probe length of 25 m (8"). Sensor tip materials include:- Polyoxymethylene (POM): Standard for standard lengths only.
- PTFE: Available as an optional sensor tip material.
- PVC: Available as an optional rod and tip construction.
Process Connections
The series supports various connection types including:- Threaded: ¾ NPT (standard), BSP, or other threaded sizes up to 2". Specific ordering options include 1", 1 ½", and 2" connections.
- Tri-Clamp / Tri-Grip™: Available in 1 ½", 2", 2 ½", and 3" sizes (e.g., 2" Tri-Grip™).
- Flange: ANSI flanges available in 150# ratings for 1", 1 ½", 2", and 2 ½" connections.
- Sanitary Mounting: Optional sanitary mounting configurations are supported.
Electrical Connections & Power
The units feature a cable gland with ½ NPT conduit; large enclosures include dual ports. The LVCN6000 series is powered by 85 to 240 Vac, while the LVCN7000 series operates on 12 to 30 Vdc.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between model families lies in power supply and enclosure material. The LVCN6000 Series is designed for AC operation (85 to 240 Vac) and utilizes Aluminum enclosures, whereas the LVCN7000 Series operates on DC voltage (12 to 30 Vdc) with Nylon enclosures. Both series share identical output specifications (SPDT relay), operating temperature ranges (-10 to 80°C / 14 to 176°F), and pressure ratings (145 psi / 10 bar).Model numbering follows the pattern LVCN6XYZ for AC models or LVCN7XYZ for DC models, where digits indicate mounting type, enclosure size/material, and construction details. For example, model codes such as LVCN6241, LVCN6242, LVCN7211, and LVCN7212 denote specific combinations of 316 SS rods with Polyoxymethylene or PTFE tips, paired with their respective power-rated enclosures.
