Supported Applications

The A/GP Harness is a Packard wire harness that connects the GP Series pressure transducers to their power supply and signal loop. Because the GP Series transducers use a Packard connector, this harness provides the mating cable assembly that carries the transducer's 4 to 20 mA (2-wire, loop-powered) output to a controller, indicator, or data acquisition system.

Offered in plenum-rated and metal-clad constructions, the harness suits the same commercial, industrial, and process-control installations as the transducers it serves — refrigeration, pumps, hydraulics, compressors, and general pressure monitoring. The plenum-rated versions are well suited to routing through air-handling spaces, while the metal-clad versions add physical protection for more demanding runs.

The A/GP Harness must be ordered separately when ordering transducers with a Packard connector, allowing the cable length to be matched to the distance between the sensor and the control point.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The harness is a direct-mating Packard connector cable assembly built to carry the transducer's 4 to 20 mA (2-wire, loop-powered) signal. When wired for 4 to 20 mA output, the black wire is not used.

Two construction grades are available:

Plenum Rated: the standard A/GP Packard wire harness, offered in lengths from 2' up to 40'
Metal Clad: the A/GP M-series harness for added mechanical protection, offered in 10' and 20' lengths

Each harness terminates in the Packard connector that mates directly with the GP Series transducer, so no field wiring of the sensor-side connection is required.

Configuration Options

The lineup differs in two respects: cable length and jacket construction. Length is selected to span the exact distance from the transducer to the controller without excess cable, ranging from a short 2' lead up to a 40' run. Jacket construction is either plenum-rated (the standard A/GP harnesses) or metal-clad (the A/GP M-series), letting the installer choose between air-handling-space compliance and rugged physical protection.

Every variant is otherwise identical in function — a Packard wire harness that connects to the GP Series transducer — and each length carries a correspondingly higher shipping weight, from A/GP 2' Harness at 0.09 lbs. (0.04 kg) up to A/GP 40' Harness at 1.22 lbs. (0.55 kg).
